Challenger Type Rating

Is there a blanket type rating for some models? Is upgrading type rating to bigger models mostly paperwork in some cases?

604/605 is a single type, but a 2 day differences course is required after initial.

Not sure what is required to go from the 604/605 up to the 850/890....or from 601 to 604/605. call bombardier training in montreal...probably get a pretty quick answer.

601 (CL60) and 604 (CL64) are 2 different initial training and you could do the 604/605 transition in a 3 hrs "in house" course. RJ (CL65) is another initial training. $40000 for each one.

True, but if you do 605 initial then differences to 604 it ends up being about 3 hours of ground school on day one, plus a little more ground school on day 2, and some time in a CPT on day 2. At least, when i did 605 to 604 differences, that's what it was in 2008. There is no 605 CPT, hence the reason for the SIM as opposed to CPT if you do the 604 initial then 605 differences.

OK - 5 hour groundschool, 3 hour FTD 'tactile' training, 4 hours sim for 2-crew. 2 days. Bombardier YUL.

Thanks Wally, i am saying that because when i did my 604 initial, the other guy i was with returned to class right after his flight test to do a "3 hours" difference 605 course, that's it...that's what they told me but thinking of it, he was a US guy, so maybe it is different for them...it was in 2008 too....

I was looking to do a type rating on challenger 604, are there any type rating center's in canada.e.this has nothn to do with the above topic..but would really appreciate the help.thanks

Bombardier Training in Montreal had a 604 (not sure if they still do) but even if they do, FSI in Tucson is much cheaper for an initial.
