Jazz Employee's Losing Some ZedFares?
I notice we lost a few ZedFares, while Mainline (AC) didn't, is this Normal or does it happen often?
I'm guessing this has a lot to do with us being an independant company now, or does Jazz just have to negotiate with some of those Airlines we had ZedFares with to get them back?
Anyone know?

Re: Jazz Employee's Losing Some ZedFares?
yeah, I just find it weird how all of a sudden it happened to us, and not mainline? ... Hmmm ... maybe more changes to come?

if you have access to the travel website, just look under the different airlines, and you'll see from there

Had a quick look at some random airlines and all included Jazz, not going through the whole list of airlines. Unless you use a different website than AC employees I don't see any restrictions.

Thai Airways
Qatar
Phillipines Airlines
Air New Zealand
If you look at the end of each of those pages, it was updated at the 1st of this Month, Im guessing they'll be doing more?

I see it now. Like you said before probably because Jazz is a separate company now. Sometimes its the specific airlines that end the agreement, probably has nothing to do with AC.
AC also lost Singapore, and Air New Zealand rates are now ZH instead of ZMs.
Re: Jazz Employee's Losing Some ZedFares?
I think the ppl who work for ETS are just too lazy to update the whole the way they did with those most recent ones, Haha! ... but if you list for Philipine Airlines, you still can although it says we are not elgiable for ZED's with them ... HAHA
Re: Jazz Employee's Losing Some ZedFares?
Well, it looks like the email we all recieved today kinda explained it... because we are a "Franchisee"

Re: Jazz Employee's Losing Some ZedFares?
Hate to say it but there has been some discussion about this recently at Air Canada. It came up during a meeting regarding the Thomas Cook contract. Calin explained that Jazz, now being a completely separate company and responsible to it's own shareholders, had the right to diversify and pursue other interests outside the CPA.
The question was then brought forward as to why a completely separate company from Air Canada would have total DOH pass travel access? It is basically no different than allowing Westjet employees DOH access to Air Canada travel. During the discussion it was highlighted that it is a two way street and Air Canada mainline also enjoys DOH pass travel with Jazz. Calin admitted that he had no idea this was the case and followed up by saying " Jazz is supplying Air Canada with a CPA, therefore, those seats are bought and paid for by Air Canada empty or full. So Air Canada will ultimately decide who sits in them."
So there may be some changes coming, who knows?

That decision has already been made, we were informed of it already a week or two ago, but as of for the ZedFares, we got two Airlines back that were taken away, so obviously they are working on it.... and for our Travel benefits? everything is the same as it was... so that is good news!

Jaques,
Jazz management informed employees on April 21st that pass travel privileges would remain unchanged until the expiry of the CPA in 2020 as per an agreement with AC.

Hey Mattefred
If that is the case, then no worries.
Doesn't sound like Calin is too "up" on the whole situation.
Cheers

RE: Jazz with passes...
A lot has been made of this, consider also that all aeroplan employees have C2 passes.

Are they on C3's right now?
Re: Jazz Employee's Losing Some ZedFares?
What about AVEOS? Why not take away passes from all of the companies spun off from AC. Only the lucky AC employees keep the passes and everyone else can go away.
MONTREAL - Air Canada (TSX: AC-B.TO) will become minority owners in Aveos Fleet Performance Inc. after the aircraft overhaul company's lenders endorsed a refinancing plan to reduce the heavy debt assumed with its 2007 privatization.
http://ca.news.finance.yahoo.com/s/2701 ... nders.html
Everyone in these companies were once AC employees, and after the vultures got done, the employees left over want to toss out the scraps, very selfish.
What would you ACPA pilots say if what's left of AC was divided into domestic and international as two seperate companies? Then in a surprise move(no surprise to me) they sell the domestic division to someone else, now a seperate company, half of you work for XXXX airline, formerly AC domestic. What happens to your passes then, would you still eat your young?
What if the company that bought you was JAZZ, how would you feel about us spouting BOTL? I'm sure some would say that, because there's always 10% of a group that are like that. And if you don't think this scenario is possible, you might want to take off those rose colored glasses you're wearing and look at what has happened so far.
My prediction, this will take place in the next round of CCAA coming soon to a theatre near you.

Highest paid Dash-8 pilots. Lowest paid 757. Eating your young, how about undermining the entire industry! I think BA is looking for pilots to sub as F/A's for the next couple of days!mbav8r wrote: Everyone in these companies were once AC employees, and after the vultures got done, the employees left over want to toss out the scraps, very selfish.
