Re: Earthquake - Ontario/Quebec
The building here in Ottawa shook pretty well - we all ran out and got some vitamin D

Re: Earthquake - Ontario/Quebec
Yep, felt it here in Niagara, although not very strong. We've had about a half a dozen here in the last, oh say 25 years. Not often enough that you'd get accustomed to it. Quite a strange sensation, especially if you're a few floors up in a taller building.
Cheers,

Just because Quebec wants to separate from the rest of Canada... they always go to extremes!

Re: Earthquake - Ontario/Quebec
The whole hotel was shaking here in Pointe Claire. Was wondering what the hell was going on.

I called my wife to make sure I wasn't drunk again... Turns out this was a real one.
Anyway, I wonder how many chicks were sporting some cleavage...
Maybe that guy from Iran had it right after all...

Re: Earthquake - Ontario/Quebec
Interesting, some people must go into denial when earthquakes happen.
I thought it was neat an earthquake happened today because the G20 is starting today, and it could be like a warning to the G20 leaders.
When I sat down at my desk at 1:30, I had an email in my inbox, 'an earthquake has hit the NCR, we are evacuating Gatineau as a precaution', I kept reading it over because I didn't believe it.

First the quake, then a tornado does a number in my town, it's been a fun day

Here in Ottawa, I had just sent my student out on his second solo (for circuits) when the quake hit. It occurred just as he was doing his mag. check and he said he thought the engine was "running a bit rough".

Re: Earthquake - Ontario/Quebec
Midland or Omemee? I was about 10nm away from a tornado that touched down between Peterborough and Lindsay ON. The sky turned a colour id never seen before (greenish black) and the wind started to increase. It was a steady wind, not gusty at all. It just continued to increase as the storm got closer. When the storm was at its height, the wind was steady around 50 kts and lasted for about 10 mins. It was quite an experience to see the power of a storm with this magnitude. KAG, I trust everyone is ok in your family? The tornado up at Midland was much stronger (by all accounts) and Midland is in a state of emergency this morning..They are reporting casualties. The funnel cloud picked on a trailer park again and literally destroyed the whole park. It was quite a day!, and i hope everyone is OK:)KAG wrote:First the quake, then a tornado does a number in my town, it's been a fun day

If you look at that photo, you see one of the indicators your area has been targeted. That triangle formed by the Chemtrails is a sure sign that government aircraft are spraying their deadly particulates into the air over your head. I hope you wear protection for the next few days .... and take lots, and lots of vitamin C ... about 15 times the daily recommended maximum dose .. that is one of the antidotes.

Yeah I live in Midland and all is well, were lucky. We just got home when it really started to come down and the power starts to flicker, the wife see's a funnel cloud out the front heading away from our house.
A little while later we find out that was a tornado had touched down about 1 KM from our house. We went to see what was up thinking this was a non event and got a nasty suprise. I'm amazed no one was killed as what damage we could see from outside the blocked off area was terrible.
I'm just thankful no one was killed.

Read this in the CADORS:
Ottawa Tower was evacuated at 1741Z due to an earthquake. Limited ATC service was available until 1815Z. Several departures and arrivals were delayed by up to 15 minutes so the runways could be inspected and temporary communications established. Normal operations resumed at 1815Z.

The ISP I work for does support for a nursing home up your way, and I have to admit I laughed at the trouble ticket that came in. "Home's connection is down due to tornado. Home is still there, but the telephone wires aren't!"KAG wrote:Yeah I live in Midland and all is well, were lucky.
