Re: Westjet Hiring
Assume he's talking FO's. Been running new hire courses of 10 since late January I believe, and if I recall correctly, the hiring forecast was for 160 new pilots this year.
Re: Westjet Hiring
No calls went out today. June 14th went out about 10 days ago. July 5 will go out next week.
The total for this year will be 118. I suspect it will be at about the same for next if the economy hangs in there.
Dave.

Hi,
Class averages are still around 5000 to 6000 hrs with a the next class having 3 from skyservice, one or two from jazz(rj) military(f18) cdn north(dash/737) westwind(atr) cma (be1900) and I can't recall the others off the top of my balding head. The class size is 10.

Hi,
Sorry I don't know anything about maintenance recruiting.
I'll pm you the recruiters name so you can give them a call.

Re: Westjet Hiring
Dave, in WJ's opinion... which scores more points towards getting hired: PIC on a 704 (+12,500lbs) classed turbo-prop or F/O time on a 705 classed turbo-prop?
Re: Westjet Hiring
Have any more calls gone out for after July 5th???
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Westjet Hiring
Does anyone know how many more GS's scheduled for the year and approximate wait time from successful interview to GS? My current job is hanging in the balance dependent on how soon or how late a new WestJetter is leaving for the mothership.
Thanks,
LH
Thanks,

Re: Westjet Hiring
Aug 23rd was just called.
There are two more courses planed after that - September and October. We don't run them after that because it takes us into the holidays with training. New classes will start again come the first week of January.
That will total about 118 new hire pilots for 2010.
Speaking of which, we hit our 1000th pilot on the last ground school. Congratulations to PB. A very nice reception and a new mile stone here at WJA.
Class act with our number one Pilot presenting the gift. Thanks to all who were involved for the meet and greet.
2011 is shaping up to be a good year for hiring too.
Dave.

Re: Westjet Hiring
Dave,
I see on the hiring website that the current pilot job posting closes on June 30, 2010. As you mentioned more pilot hiring in 2010 is it safe to assume the listing will be renewed/reposted?
Thanks for taking the time to post on these forums, btw!

Yes, it will reopen.
The system always has a drop dead date and it just has to be extended from our end.

Re: Westjet Hiring
The WJ site says pilots should search Workopolis for positions. Is that the new thing or is it just because the hiring window is temporarily closed?
