Hi I have a friend who is interested in the ATC world, However he has no background in aviation at all. I gave him the breakdown from my end (AC) but was wondering if I could get someone who is in the YYZ ATC to talk with him and give him more insight to the Job/lifestyle/training/cut rate etc etc. If you could pm me I will give you my phone # so we could chat and I will forward on his number to you.

I'm not in YYZ, but if it helps your friend at all, I didn't know a 182 from a 737 when I started training... and I coulnd't have cared less. Now I'm IFR @ YEG ACC. Don't need to know aviation... Nav Can will teach you what you need to know.
