Here's something I'm kind of curious about...
The Us economy is in the toilet, financial "empires" are collapsing or on the verge, and the country is how much in debt?
Where do they come up with $700 billion for this bailout? Just fire up the prinitng machines?
Either that or George has an incredibly high limit on the corporate travel card!

If they had the money bornagain it wouldn't be such a problem. But they don't, so they have to borrow it. Since they obviously can't borrow it from American institutions they have to borrow it from foreign countries further increasing not only their total debt (which is gargantuan), but their foreign debt. Americans pride themselves on being independent and able to survive in this world alone. This proves otherwise which will be very hard for lots of people to swallow. Doc hit the nail on the head when he said it's the beginning of the end of the American Empire.

Since when did I ever assist anyone? Scarily enough, I'm a Captain on our jet. I agree about the 200 lbs fuel thing though - I have done some flights where I would have gladly replaced myself with a few extra litres of Jet-A.
