Smoke at YYC

There's thick black smoke billowing from the east side of the runway, behind NCA and SAIT. I can't see what's happening, but I don't see any emergency vehicles, and it looks like planes are departing normally. Does anyone know what's happening?

There's a building over there that the Calgary Fire Department uses for training occasionally. Probably put there from when the Airport was a fair distance from the city.

Don't worry...all it does is f$ckin rain in Calgary, so that'll put it out.

They have a couple gutted fuselages (F28 and B737) there that the fire dept fills with used oil and Jet A, sparks up and practices their thing. Located just south of the threshold of 28. No worries.
