Who is affected by RVSM?

Post by DC6driver »

I am a hardly-ever-flying-VFR-guy and dont know a thimbleful squirt of piss about aviation, and for the smaller-than-airline-companies, how is RVSM affecting your ops?

is it spendy spenderson and you just stay below 290?

are you getting equiped and trained and if so what does it take?

are all biz jet operators getting dialled in?

what about the conquests and avantis etc? are they dialling in?

lemme know yo

I don't think a conquest is too worried about RVSM, but am pretty sure there isn't an Avanti flying in Canada right now without RVSM. Avia's is for sure.

- a/c must be certified w/ appropriate nav/height keeping/displays etc.: manufacturer/operator/authorities all involved
- need a LOA from the appropriate authority for RVSM and MNP
- AFM must contain the appropriate stuff
- need to train pilots
- need an ops manual
- need to cross over or carry a HMU (height monitoring unit)

That's all I can recall...all recent Bombardier products are RVSM and MNP or can become same with SB.

Enough?

Pretty simple, an online course can even be taken. Course content covers the equipment necessary for RVSM, preflight actions, domestic and international contingency procedures, best practices, deviation consequences and reporting procedures, and what to do when the aircraft is not RVSM-capable.

Is Google down or something?

Or a print out on company letterhead that just says the exact same stuff as in the AIP...

That would be the smart thing to do, for sure
Then TC can find out people are forging the certification, and they can step in with their iron fist and mandate that we go to a TC office and take a test for $100...Braaaaavo

The only other compagny that operate avantis had to invest a huge amount of money during the last to month to upgrade they avanti and trainned the pilots.
