100LL Challenge
After hours of attempting to locate and purchase 100LL, I've decided to turn to the AVCANADA community for new ideas. Looking to purchase 150 gallons of 100LL fuel in the Salluit, Qc region. I have attempted to contact Air Inuit to see if they have any barrels for sale. I've contacted delivery companies, but the costs associated are higher than I'm willing to pay for such a small quantity. Flying out of Iqaluit is not an option either. In the perfect world I could convince the "higher ups" to buy a turbine and make my life easier...but in this economy I'm just happy they cover the cost of office coffee.
Thanks for any tips or suggestions

There is an art . . . to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

You'll need to post a little more on you requirements such as destinations and what you're doing. Survey? Can you fit a barrel in your plane with the stuff?
In reality the answer to your question is "there is no cheap/reasonable 100LL available in the communities in the North." Your best bet would be to charter someone to put the barrels there from YFB (if they have them there) or somewhere they do have them. Most people that get 100LL in the north put barrels there themselves the year before.
Good Luck.

I don't know what the prices are up north, but being on the west coast I can tell you that barrelled fuel is ridiculously priced. We won't even order it in anymore. I tell people to get a barrel, fill your plane, and drain it into the barrel. It's crazy, but branded fuel companies won't pump into a barrel.
Good Luck!

If you fly for Imperial Oil, using drummed fuel is prohibited. Talk about standing behind your product.

Fly to YVP and then take the sked on Air Inuit - Cheaper than a barrel of Gas and certainly much safer -- The side of the runway at Rankin has a monument to taking av gas from a barrel.
Black Air has no Lift - Extra Fuel has no Weight
