Yeah, study. Are so lazy that you can't even use the search function on your own? Good thing there'll be somebody in the left seat to feed you.

Thank you ILSfan07, appreciate the feedback and most of all , your willingness to help, It demonstrates to me that you have what it takes to be a great Captain/leader both on the ground and in the air. I however viewed those posts previously, I was hoping to get views from persons who recently wrote the test to get a heads up from them.
Thanks again ... keep it up

The tests don't really change on a frequent basis. Transport Canada has several different versions of the exam, which are selected at random on your test day. If you put in some solid study time, there should be no (or very few) surprises on the exam.
I'm personally not a big fan of people sharing test questions, because it's not conducive to learning the actual material. The objective here is to test your operational knowledge of instrument flying procedures, not your ability to regurgitate information you found on the internet. However, to each their own, and if you really want to look up actual questions on the exam, some of that is available through various sources like the threads posted above.
There are also seminars and study materials available from third-party companies like like Aerocourse (http://www.aerocourse.com/) which I can personally endorse. These programs are by no means required or essential to passing the IATRA, all of the questions on the exam will correspond to the information listed in the Transport Canada Study and Reference Guide. (http://www.tc.gc.ca/publications/EN/TP1 ... 13524E.PDF)
I understand that you want to do well on your exam, but I would suggest that perhaps you re-focus your energy into studying the material, and you should do fine. If you have specific questions about subject areas that confuse you, I would first attempt to find the information yourself, in the various reference materials made available to you. If you still can't find it, ask another student, your instructor, or even this forum. Most of us are very willing to help, however some of us are a little frustrated to see posters asking for very generic or easily accessible information. The majority of us are friendly, I promise

Re: IATRA EXAMS
Yep, ask me a question, and I'll do my best to help you. I'll be VERY friendly about it. But ILS, you are correct in that many of us ARE frustrated with people who politely ask for information to save them from working towards an exam that is arguably the easiest exam in the arsenal. I make no aplogies for that frustration, and personally, I think the list of questions that are posted here should either be deleted or tracked. Anybody who thinks it's OK to use that sort of information and mask it as a "study aid" should have the stones to walk in with a printout of it and show it to the proctors just before the exam. I guarantee it'll be the shortest exam you'll ever show up to write.

Hey there Highroller...
I too agree with the previous two posters and do find it frustrating when people want to take the easy way out to get through their training. I do see where people are coming from with this frustration, and it just seems to be getting worse. People are in such a hurry and failing to enjoy the experience. Without sounding too old, when I was studying way back yonder it was all about gaining the knowledge instead of getting the answers/questions. With that being said, if you look at any of the prep manuals they attain their information from people who have taken the tests; they remember the questions, and then provide said question or the basics to the question so that they can be added to their manuals/course material.
I never did the IATRA, as I just went straight to the ATPL but the dynamics of the industry have changed quite a bit since I've done my exams. I studied for 2 months straight (mind you, not much else to do on a reserve
) and then took the Aerocourse which is well worth the investment (it's even a tax write off). Not sure if I can post their link on here or not, but if not I'm sure the mods can remove it for me.

Even if you don't want to take their course, they do provide a great reference list of books to use for the studying of this exam.
Good luck with the studying and the exam!

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
Re: IATRA EXAMS

AJV: If you're around YYC, you're welcome to borrow everything I have. It's a few years old, but should still be good.

Thanks for the offer, but I hold onto that kind of stuff so my cojoes can use it when the time comes. I'll keep my eye out and let you know if anybody around the base has books they'd like to get rid of.

Re: IATRA EXAMS
I just thought to bump this for any new guys looking into the IATRA. This is the first link that pops up on Google.
I just wrote it today with a passing mark of %88. I studied for 3 days, mostly the questions on here (three links above) as well as looking up some extra stuff like duty regs and met. I am confident in saying that if you study the questions that members have posted on here and know not just the answers but the theory behind each answer you will pass. About 40 of the 50 questions were near verbatim to the questions listed here.
Good luck.
