I was watching a documentarty called "The End of Suberbia" and in the background was a gas station - its sale price for reg was 69.9. That was August 2003. Gives you an idea at how fast gas prices are escalating. Price has risen aprox 30% in two years and the federal government won't reduce taxes. Apparently, this tax is what pays for our social programs

Maybe if gas gets high enough people will start thinking about the alternatives, Wind, solar and Geothermal can all make clean cheap power to drive electric cars. If we can find a cheap and clean method to produce Hydrogen (currently produced from Natural Gas) I know there are turbines that can be converted to run on Hydrogen.

Hi R2800. You have a good theory there,but, I don't think people are capable of thinking fast enough, far ahead enough to make much of a change on the current situation. What I would expect to see is, if the price keeps climbing at the current rate the economies of the world will go into the "sh-ter" and people will be forced to quite buying. Then there will be no end to the supply of jet, gas, kero, diesel, k y jelly and anything else made from oil. Probably at a much lower price also. Then we'll get to do the whole damn thing all over again.
