I fly a DHC2 in Australia, it used to work in CA and AK.

I have attached a some pictures of the old girl I found on the web, did you fly her, fix her or just see her about. She is a great plane and works hard for her keep in the rough open ocean waters of NE Australia on the Great Barrier Reef nowadays.

I would love to find out a bit about her, if you know anything please let me know.

Poor old bird is just rusting away out on those moorings. Does it still have that weird vibration. Ever since it hit that sailboat, it's never been the same. How long have you been working there? Still in the honeymoon stage?

A while, no vibration, although had a prob today getting 2200rpm, good job I used to be on the spanners and sorted it out. I don't have honey moon periods, it is a fools game it is the reason most pilots never enjoy what they are doing until after they have left, they spend every moment waiting for the next job that will be better! and that never happens to them.

Too bad your original quirey had to degenerate into this wildernesspilot.

My uncle flogged Beavers on the West Coast for 40 years. I'll run it by him and see if he knows anything about it.

The "XGG" registration is not in his log book, he tells me. I'm in the middle of coaching him through opening the link to look at Neil's pictures of it. Computers aren't Uncle's forte.

He must have some great tales to tell, once my Canadian residence is through maybe I will get a chance to fly in CA one day.

It's a shame moderators pulled the posts by previous pilots trying to warn people about this operation.

Well for the pilot involved, just happy he and his pax are one bit. Same old same old for the rest of us, life continues as normal.

All not well in paradise then WP? new manager? weren't you on here a while back telling everyone that rc was not all that bad yet here you are less than 6 weeks later hoping for a new manager. But then you dont have honeymoon periods do you...

Hope you have not burned too many bridges before crossing them. Getting pretty hard to go to work and just do your job turning a blind eye to everything is it ???

Very lucky that no one was seriously injured or killed....maybe now the regulator will do its job and take a good look at the operation! huge pilot attrition, fuel barges capsizing, planes sinking, inept management, need i go on. maybe this post will be deleted too.

Any luck with a new CP yet? no doubt this incident will sound alarm bells to any prospective applicants.

No I did not say he was not that bad I said I try not to let it effect me and do my job, pleased everyone is safe and no one was hurt or killed in a genuine accident.

Cheers

Correct me if I am wrong but that is now 2 written off seaplanes to the same pilot in his last 100hrs on floats. Might be a few years apart but pretty sure he has not done all that much flying in between accidents. He has managed to walk away from both so some might say very lucky pilot some may say very unlucky pilot.

I will wait for the official report before deciding if this was a genuine accident.

I never quite made it there, sounds like a lucky break! Are the current crop of pilots there about to walk too???

This happened while the current CP was working out his notice. So I would assume they will need a CP. Not sure about the other 2 guys. 3 guys and one plane. Could be a fight over, who fly's, who drives the bus and who drives the dingy

Sounds like you were lucky O2. CP walked and took his Approval with him, the last remaining pilot quit a few days later. They are now temporarily operating under another operators AOC. Had to laugh at the latest add on afap dot org dot au states "working in a great team environment"

What damn fool would allow use of there AOC? Oh well the timeline still works. 3 months from all smiles, to all tears. I can't believe G. is still backing this idiot.
