Thanksgiving Special

Post by Bluetooth »

Attached is a note handed to me by a waitress at Swiss Chalet, Terminal 3, YYZ, on Thanksgiving. I had 3 hours between flights and was having the solo 'Thanksgiving Special'. The Gentleman who wrote the note was sitting at the table behind me, solo as well. I only saw him as I sat down. I didn't see him leave. At the end of my meal I recieved the note and was told that he had paid for my supper.

Being on the road and away from family on Thanksgiving, I was touched by the gesture and felt I should share this with others.

Thanks Mark
I won't forget it

Great gesture! How often we forget that we all sit on the same side of the flightdeck door!

We should keep this thread going and/or possibly make it a sticky. I know I personally try and buy the guys up front a Timmy's muffin or donut whenever I'm jump seating and have some time to spare.

Classy gesture mark.

I'm surprised at how many jumpseaters don't bother poking their head and saying thanks on their way out. There's an etiquette, and I wish more pilots followed it.

Mark,

That was absolutely Class A+++ in my books! Well done. I too commute on WJ on a semi-regular basis out west to YVR. If possible, I always ask to be seated at back so I am last off the plane and express my thanks to the crew for giving me a ride. I try to help with the seat belts as often as possible.

As professional pilots, we have to protect our own, no matter what color we wear or represent. WJ pilots are always welcome on my flights.

Cheers

First of all I'm curious to see what Aviator2010, I mean The Big Mac said, but anyway...

What a classy move to do! Things like that really give me hope for the world... and it's such a simple gesture, yet it goes so far in todays world!
