Does straightening your teeth can make them weak?

Post by loopslike »

I have some bend teeth. I was thinking of wiring and straightening them, but one of my friend told it has a lot of complexion and its actually make them weak. And grip between Jaw and teeth became weak. Is that true?

If I had the academic horsepower to be an orthodontist, I sure as heck wouldn't be flying aeroplanes for a living!

I doubt what your friend is telling you, as it seems to be a widely accepted practice amongst children. Might be different for adults, though. Perhaps consult with a Dentist/Orthodontist - they're the experts, after all.

I could get some lock wire and vise grips and likely do a fairly good job of it ...

On a serious note, one of the fellas I work with just had braces put on, and he's about 35.

So I would trust a Dentist's opinion moreso than a buddy.
