Yep, for some reason when Boeing bought out McDonnell Douglas they renamed the MD-95 (DC-9-95) the 717 and confused things.

Well worth the visit
They used to open the gates and let you park your airplane in what was a vistors parking place.
Great fun !!!!!
They even have one of those strange blackbirds in there ,and an Apollo command module loads of great stuff.Takes a good day to get through all the exibits and the food at the restaurant is quite nice .Very tasty chilli and Seattle coffee
A great museum filled with people who love anything that flies.

Off to the Smithonian for my next visit down south :wonder what the folks in DC would do if i flew up the river and tried to land and park at their fine museum.
Maybe i will wait untill the weather is northern ifr (I follow roads and rivers) and sneak in so as not to upset anyone

Just did a trip to Washington (for the ADF's annual symposium) last month - got to both the Ar and Space museum, and the Udvar-Hazy. My second trip to the Air and Space museum - first trip to Udvar-Hazy - only ever seem to have a couple hours to do these things in and its rushed - but even with only 2 hours to spare it was well worth going out to Dulles to see it!

very cool foto ! i would personally take out the fedex 727 since the concorde look's to be chalked pretty good !

maybe that's a 720 off to the right of the concorde and ahead of the 741 in the display apron ?

you can really see how the fuselage on the 707 & 727 are idential for 3/4's of the way .

doesn't that poor 757 look like an jungle jet 190 between those two heavies , lol .

If you ever find yourself in Portland, take the drive out to McMinnville & check out the Evergreen Aviation Museum...it's the home of "The Spruce Goose" (which is friggin' huge!).
