There seems to be an unsubstantiated rumour circulating about a downed aircraft on the west side of James Bay. This is the second time I've heard this today.
As far as Wasaya is concerned, all aircraft are accounted for.

Narrative: The privately-owned Piper PA24 aircraft was on a VFR flight from Attawapiskat Airport (CYAT) to Moosonee Airport (CYMO). At 1415Z, the flight crew advised Timmins F.S.S. staff on the Moosonee RCO that the aircraft was 36 DME north-northwest at an altitude of 800 feet and having some difficulty with carburetor icing. No emergency was declared. Timmins F.S.S. staff lost radio contact with the aircraft at 1419Z and initiated search and rescue with J.R.C.C. Trenton. The aircraft lost engine power and made a forced landing at 51º44'38"N 81º11'27"W (37.4 NW CYMO). The sole occupant was rescued by a local helicopter and returned to Moosonee without injury. Ops. impact - none.

Narrative: UPDATE Supplemental information received from J.R.C.C. Trenton: The flight crew of the Piper Comanche aircraft reported an engine problem and had no further contact with ATC on a flight from Attawapiskat to Moosonee. The 424 Squadron Hercules and Griffon helicopters were tasked to search for the aircraft. The pilot was retrieved uninjured and flown back to Moosonee airport by a commercial helicopter. Case closed.

Thanks for the clarification and glad the pilot was uninjured.
The weather was indeed terrible up and down the James Bay coast. Strong gusty winds, localized severe mechanical turbulence and lot's of snow. Environment Canada has an ongoing winter storm warning issued for that region (since Sunday).
