No .. it means they will be "governed" by their CPA and the ACPA scope clause, the same as Jazz.freakonature wrote:Does that mean the Sky Regional pilots will be governed by ACPA?

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
Yet another thread hijacked by Union crap.
ACPA doesn't run the world of aviation. No matter what they like to think. They're pilots. Not a ***kin' airline.
When will this pilot group stop kicking their toys out of their crib and behave like grown ups? I thought they were professionals not teamsters.

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
How's the interview process working out? Are they interviewing Captains first, then FOs or both at the same time? Will they still be calling in the next week? What kind of experience are they looking for?
Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
Wondering what happened here... Out of interest I put in an application a month ago, and two days later got an email from their HR department informing me that they were holding interviews in Toronto (the week of Oct. 18th), and they would like to have a telephone interview with me (since I am not currently near Toronto). I was asked to give them a call if I was interested. I tried calling them a couple of times, left voicemails, tried replying by email, and never heard back from them. I eventually just gave up, couldn't get a hold of them at all.
They never indicated whether it was for a Captain position or FO position... I'm on the lowish end of what I would imagine to be their Captain requirements (which maybe that means they expected me to accept low pay? If so, not interested!).
Anyways, anyone know what the deal is here lately?

Sounds like a cluster-f$ck there.
I'm sure some of the people that have been "hired" still don't even know whats going on either.

I just got a call for an interview in YUL. Any info on the interview would be nice. I'm at 3400TT with 500 on type.
Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
Hi All
Just out of curiosity has anyone received a offer from SkyRegional. How did the interviews go in Montreal??
Cheers

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
No bond.
Most pilots will be based in YUL since 3 out of 4 aircraft will be overnighting in YUL. Therefore the ability to speak French is a great asset.
FO: $31200 base salary + $14/flight hour. Looking at about 80h/month + 10 days OFF + Reserve and standby days.
Passes on Air Canada + benefits

I don't speak French but I'd commute to YUL if they offered me a Direct Entry Captain slot.
Anybody gotten the good word so far?

WOW, you say you wanna come to Jazz but demand a JET Position to come over. Yet you'll go fly a dash for a company that has No benefits, Hasn't started yet, etc. MMMM

I know here, I'll be in the first groups of pilots hired so I'll be quite senior.
No, the Q400 isn't a jet, but has good avionics, comfortable cockpit, and FAST. Have some friends who fly it for Porter - they love it!
I've also heard it rumored but NOT confirmed that there will be some sort of flow through/preferential hiring with AC. So MAYBE I'll have that in my back pocket, but maybe not.
At Jazz, I know I'll be an FO for a long time, so comfort factor is key. As in doing longer legs throughout North America, better quality of life, logging jet time. I don't mind slinging gear, but make me comfortable while doing it!!!!

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
I've also heard it rumored but NOT confirmed that Michel L is starting up another airline with some type of jet.
I always wondered what type of pilot would ever work for ML again.
Now I know.

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
Who is going to handle the ramp work at YTZ? Air Canada staff from other bases such as the IAM?
Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
We haven't heard anything yet, but curious who will do it. Rumor is that we (Porter) will under contract, but will we have dedicated crews for Sky Regional? I'm sure they will be very fussy on how their aircraft are handled, and by who.bluenote wrote:Who is going to handle the ramp work at YTZ? Air Canada staff from other bases such as the IAM?

Tell Porter management to put on the 'B' ramp team to handle the AC Regional flightsskyler wrote:We haven't heard anything yet, but curious who will do it. The lazy ones, the weak ones, the ones who just might bash the baggage cart into a Dash. Lol! lol!
And tell them to hire me too!

Good to know, good to know!
What are competitive times for pilot applicants now?
How long is time to Captaincy? Are you guys still hiring Direct Entry Captains?

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
COMETer, relax get your PPL then think about applying to the Airlines. Don't get too far ahead of yourself.
Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
No worries man! I got me a nice freight job, lots of IFR flying, only problem is well its not turbine. And thats what you have to fli if you want to go to the airlines. Wanna give me a turbine job?Barney wrote:COMETer, relax get your PPL then think about applying to the Airlines. Don't get too far ahead of yourself.
Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
I'm not in Ops anymore so don't get to hear the scuttlebut on pilot hiring, but believe they still do hire direct entry. I've seen alot of new faces while out on the ramp..just wonder if I'll see familiar faces flying the Q but in a different color scheme.COMETer wrote:Good to know, good to know!
