Average Pairing

Post by BTyyj »

I noticed that on the Westjet page somebody was able to give some average day pairings for Westjet, so this got me curious about what an average pairing would be like for a Jazz pilot based at YYC. IF anybody could give me some pairing examples, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Jack

I work for WJ and used to work at Jazz. The schedules for the RJ out of YYZ are almost the same except at Jazz there are more sits than at WestJet. I never flew in YYC at Jazz, but I would imagine a typical schedule would be:

YYC-YQU-YYC-YEG-YYC-YEG
YEG-YYC-YQU-YYC

Something like that anyways.

Most of the flying is to YEG, YMM & YQU. The odd time we get to cross the border into B.C. and do some interior and west coast flying.

Bede, that might be accurate for the Dash in YYC but not the RJ. RJ pairings are all over, like;
4 DAY
YYC-YQR-YVR-YXY
YXY-YVR-YXE
YXE-YYZ-YQT
YQT-YWG-YEG-YWG-YYC =22:38CDT
OR
3 DAY
YYC-YMM-YYC-YWG
YWG-YOW-IAD-YOW
YOW-YYZ-IAH-YYC=18:03CDT

Here's a 4 dayer I just finished, YYZ on the RJ:

1. YYZ-DFW-YYZ - YQB
2. YQB-YYZ-YFC-YYZ-YSJ
3. YSJ-YYZ-YQT
4. YQT-YYZ-IND-YYZ

Average on the RJ in YYZ is 3 legs/day. When I flew the dash, average was 5. This pairing was not that bad, except for day 1, which was a 13.5hr duty day. In 3 years at Jazz, Ive probably done about 5 14hr days. Its rare though.
