Question?

You are going on vacation:

The cost of the ticket is the same for every carrier and all carriers have the same routes.

Who would you choose and why?

Would it change if it was a short, medium or long trip?

For short hauls West Jet or AC, For long hauls Air Canada. As far as Im concerned, these two are the only real options as far as comfort, on time reliability.

Canjet, Westjet or AC. All seem pretty stable now. I know who I wouldn't pick if they came back to life.

Long haul, Singapore Airlines.

Short haul is a bit of a problem due to the vast number of choices.

Westjet all the way,

They now have TV's in the back of every leather seat! you get 25 channels of satelite TV for free! And they have decent leg room too at 32" compared to some others. There on-time performance is great and they're very friendly people. Enjoy!

Short haul: WJ, because I love their service. I flew with them to LAX not too long ago and it was a great trip (except for the fact that the flight left a little too early in the morning).

Long Haul: Virgin (hot FAs).

AC is a sweet ride. I got extra cookies and milk coming back from LAX to YYZ and the guy(?), gave me an extra blankie. I was sick at the time. Mexican Black Death.

Ahh. I miss Royal. When the FA's found out we were pilots, we were whisked away to first class and BS'ed with the crew on flight deck all the way back from Mazatlan.

Well for Canadian carriers it would have to be AC;
you know you'll always get a movie, a good meal, good legroom, and maintenance at all big bases.

I flew Westjet (through Air Transat) to Cuba and for 6 hours we had no movies and no food....its sucked...never again!

Flying butcher...id have to agree with you an Emerites. I’ve only flown on them once (9 our flight)...that is how an airline should be run. It was like watching a well orchestrated show.

Within Canada AC or WJ, Outside Canada AC, I think they are pretty much the same. A guy I sat with a few weeks ago says he flies all the time- said when AC is good they are good, when they "f" something up they they do it royally as well.
I hear Zoom is good to travel with, does anyone know for sure?

It does not take 6 hours to get to anyplace in Cuba from anyplace in Canada in a 737-700. Furthermore... There are meals provided by your tour operator for everybody, free non alcoholic beverages. Bar service,
FREE satellite T.V. and Above average leg room.
If you have an axe to grind be open about it but lets not make stuff up.

It's better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth....

now I would say Virgin for the long haul, and yes Westjet for the short.

hey leftyxl, doesn't take 6 hours anywhere in canada to cuba, now I don't know, but how long of a fight would it be from like yellowknife to cuba (actually asking, not being smart ass) I know from winnipeg to mexico is usually 4 hours.

Just for grins ( I'm only guessing) YKF - somewhere in Cuba would be about 5 hours.
figure about 450kts average.

I'd say any company from asia for long haul. Service is usually top notch and boy those asian FAs are amazing!

You might want to get your facts straight before calling "Bullsh!t". I have done YYC to Cuba a couple of times, 5 hrs down 6+05 coming back.
