Jetsgo's revival
Just curious... how many of you think Canadians will let MLB pull it off again?

Even with his history, it will be good for the aviation community...especially the pilot community....just get rid of the training bond. If you can't afford to train your pilots you can't afford to run an airline.....that will be be the writing on the wall.

When your life flashes before your eyes, will it be interesting?
As much as it makes my stomach churn, I think they'll get up again, only because there are likely a lot of desperate guys that need work, and consumers who will only travel by air at that price will come out again, and take thier chances. I think that consumers specifically have short memories when they're offered a deal.
What I'm interested in knowing is how creditors, specifically the displaced passengers from the March shutdown, can still be out of pocket while his company will theoretically be making money this summer.

Sure he will pull it off and he will go bust again. Then we will hear more Canadians whining about how they lost their money, there will be more demands for regulation, airline integrity will slide even more............all because some idiot was stupid enough to but a ticket on Jetsgo.
Standby for new atis message

Please consider shaking your head? ... just a bit at least?...jumperdumper wrote:Even with his history, it will be good for the aviation community....
His presence... his practices... selling below costs ....causes (caused) ALL other airlines in Canada to suffer. Suffering airlines don't hire!
People begin to believe airline travel should be expected at bus fare prices or below... and as other airlines try to keep their seats filled, they lose all kinds of coin... as they lose money, the really tight ones (thankfully it was JG first - and while being watched by TC) begin to cut corners... that spells uh-oh! Jetsgo, and their passengers were DAMN lucky one of their many "incidents" didn't turn into a full fledged accident!
None of that is good for the aviation community!!!
As soon as they shut down, other Canadian airlines began to recover... Recovery and growth brings hiring. Now that's good for the aviation community.

TC has rejected JEt'sGO's ammneded m,anuals and procedures, they are now going to court to excercise there legal right to remove there OC. There were a total of 60 violations in 2 1/2 years. It does not look good. Today's paper's have the aieport authorities going to court to seize aircraft due to TC's decision.
That's good thinking!Griffon wrote:As soon as they shut down, other Canadian airlines began to recover... Recovery and growth brings hiring. Now that's good for the aviation community.
Before JG did there nosedive, Westjet had anounced early retirement of their 19 737-200's this would mean that those crews would have been upgraded to the 737-NG's. WITCH MEANS NO NEW HIRING for quite some time! Westjet just changed that plan to not retire them early and instead order more new planes. Getting 3 additional -600's next year along with the standing order for like 10 other new planes from Boeing.
Canjet is still buying up 737-500's as well.
If you ask me, JG did the Pilots a favour in opening up more room at Great companies flying aircaft that are much newer and better. not to mention maintained properly! At least you can rest assured you'll live through you're work day!
Loosing the training bond money sucks, i know, especially for those with families to feed but it's time to move on and try like hell to get in with a better company!
Good Luck!

Sorry Eastern, you got me wrong... I've never been in the military.
I've been an aircraft mechanic for the last 20 years though and among other things, I know most pilots are pretty foggy about what should be "considered safe".
I know people who worked for Jestgo, and some that worked at Royal.
I've seen airplanes that were horrible when only 5 years old. The age of the bird means nothing compared to the quality of the maintenance.
I don't doubt that it's employees were a good bunch of people, but .... that Jetsgo isn't flying is a good thing.
In my humble opinion.
Hope you find work soon, if you haven't already.

I agree 100% with you Griffen. Having done Royal for a while and Jet's Go at the begining I had to laugh when I saw that Capt on TV saying he would not have left the gate if the a/c was not safe. He really had no idea, neither did 90% of the people working there. I thought Royal was shady, JG put them to shame. There were a few friends of mine flying JG and I let them know at least 1 left before it all went to hell.
I have nothing aginst the people at JG, but don't defend an area that you know little about. A lot can be hidden, not reported or signed off and no one is ever the wiser. Unfortunatley when cash is low this happens and not just at JG. Furthermore cash is not always the issue. I've seen laziness, misplaced thoughts of helpfulness and time savings. In the end the only people who really truly know first hand what shape your plane is in are your AME's, MCC and maybe tech records.
