Guys sounds like calls are going out to those that are waiting to do there sim/medical. I just checked my email and there it was...one step closer. good luck to all
Re: Jazz hiring pool
Here is a silly question... ACJ has not advertised on their web, In fact is there a link for me to start applying to ACJ??
Re: Jazz hiring pool
A couple of weeks before the sim eval I tried to fly all my approaches raw data, with GPS. Plus I practiced the scenario in FS2004 a couple of times. Now from someone who has 1000hrs on the dash I see this as a handicap...how many times have you flown in the real world without the flight director
The trouble with my life is that I do not think I am cut out to sit behind a desk.

Will they let me use the FMS?Xander wrote:with GPS
Basically...If I can brief the captain on what I'm doing (whether it be FMS, Flight director..etc) I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed.

Re: Jazz hiring pool
Why? This sim eval is kept simple for a reason. Basis IFR skills and two-crew concept is what they're looking for. Use your PNF for everything. Don't try to impress them with the FMS. If you made it to the sim eval, the job is all yours to loose. Good luck!
Re: Jazz hiring pool
No FMS, no flight director. You hand fly the aircraft from the take off to the landing.
Re: Jazz hiring pool
So can anyone say what is involved for a YYZ sim eval?

Re: Jazz hiring pool
Hello Jazz friends,
I was wondering what they are looking for in terms of pilot experience, to get a call for an interview with Jazz Air.
I have applied to every Tier 3 in Canada, from CMA, Calm Air, Wasaya, Georgian, Bearskin, Perimeter, etc. and I have never received a call from anyone.
I instruct at a flight school in Montreal, with +1500 TT, ATPL and almost 200 ME-PIC. I have zero hours turbine time.
Some of my friends have gone on to Pascan or Max Aviation and Prop Air in Quebec, with as little as 800 TT. I have even applied to those companies too, but still no luck.
Thank you in advance for any info.

Re: Jazz hiring pool
Unfortunately with that time your probably not going to get a call from us either.
When I started i only had 2700 hours, however about 1800 was multi-PIC with 800 of it turbine. Yes I was a lucky duck. My experience was all over the place, floats, bush, medivac.
I was also the lowest tmed guy in my class. We had one with 7000 hours.
So as you can see the talent of MOST of the people we get is quite diverse, however that dosen't mean that you won't get a call, anytime soon either so don't let this beat ya down, I am just stating a fact of the time that most are getting on with still.
cheers

Takeoff, climb straight ahead, level off, steep turns, vectors to an NDB/VOR, brief a hold entry, vectors for a straight in NDB approach, go-around, engine fire, vectors for a single engine ILS. This is 3 years old though, but Im sure they haven't changed it.Zako wrote:So, does anyone have info on the YYZ sim eval and what's involved??
