Bill Shatner - Metal?!

Post by Hedley »

Not only is William Shatner recording a metal album (can we say that again? William Shatner is recording a metal album), but reports claim the album will feature the following things: Peter Frampton lending his skills to Black Sabbath’s Iron Man and Brian May lending his skills to a cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (!!!), plus covers of David Bowie’s Space Odyssey, the Foo Fighters’ Learn to Fly and She Blinded Me With Science which, as LA Weekly accurately points out, may supplant Rocket Man as the best Shatner cover of all time.

Just like a train wreck.

Terrible to behold but we all watch anyways...

I've watched 'Rocket Man' and listened to 'Lucy in the Sky' so many times I actually like them....

'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Space Oddity' and 'She Blinded me with Science' are metal, according to the National Post?! No wonder I don't read it

This is metal:

So is this....

The funny thing is that Tap has been far more enduring than many of the bands they were parodying...

I wonder if they'll have to adjust the music for all the dramatic pauses in his singing.

(slight divergence)

Spinal Tap ranks in the Top Twenty Movies Of All Time, which IMHO also includes, in no particular order:

Blues Brothers
Animal House
Airplane
Police Squad & sequels
Top Gun
Smokey & The Bandit
Cannonball Run
Waiting
Real Genius
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Air America
Austin Powers & sequels
Super Troopers
Grandma's Boy
Talledega Nights
Blazing Saddles
Anchorman
Caddyshack

All of the above are timeless classics. If you have not seen any of the above, get them - you will not be disappointed. Like you would be, by a Bill Shatner "metal" CD!

Book of Armaments - Chapter 2, Verses 9-21 wrote:...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O LORD, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy." Book of Armaments - Chapter 2, Verses 9-21 (somewhere thereabouts) wrote:... And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." Amen.

Oh Wow! Anchorman? Waiting? Talledega Nights? ...Grandma's Boy?!!! I'm sorry but that's the most laughable top twenty movie list I've ever seen!!!! I sure hope you don't force members of your family to sit through some of those!! But Don't worry Hedley, your are definitely not alone choosing horrible movies. Many people suffer from a chronic inability to choose good films. In fact, I think there may be a treatment for your affliction.. I believe it's called Cinema Rehab. It's a twelve step program to pick better films.

Lesson number 1: Top Gun is GAY!!!!

One of my all time favorite scenes:

Also...throw "Something about Mary" on that list.

Another scene that makes me howl is the uncut love scene in Team America.
