Re: Latest Position Bid
The bid actually shows vacancies for 96 new hires.
Re: Latest Position Bid
Personnally, I would expect over 100 new hires this year as I am sure Jazz will loose some ppl for AC/Westjet/Transat... Just my guess!

Re: Latest Position Bid
Those assigned say YYC in the current ground school are assigned the YYC base. You can complete a standing bid to state your preference of base assignment and the company can use that to assign you in the event of a vacancy between Equipment Bids. Ideally if you don't want YYC you can try and find someone to trade with, though it will not happen quickly. Here's a scenario. Lets say for those in GS right now...they are only allowed to choose from YVR or YYC Dash 8.
Three months down the road...the next new hire class is offered YYZ/YUL Dash 8. Would those who were in the previous class be able to bid back out east due sen #???
Re: Latest Position Bid
Just for curiosity, when was the lowest capt hired (YYZ CRJ and YUL DH-8). Have any of the newer hires (2005) been upgraded yet?
Re: Latest Position Bid
YYZ DH8 I believe.

Re: Latest Position Bid
Actually...YUL DH8 by about 8 numbers.

Re: Latest Position Bid
Does anyone at Jazz currently know what the chances are for a new hire to slip into a YHZ spot?
Re: Latest Position Bid
about a 10% chance. It'll take awhile but you could get it eventually.
Based on the flying out there though, you don't want YHZ based. They do to much of that thing called work

Hello:
I did the Medical 10 days ago and am starting to get a bit worried. Up until now I got a call 2 days after each step. Does it usually take this long?

Re: Latest Position Bid
Same thing for me Flytheline, I talk to the HR yesterday and they told me not to worry, they are currently doing the verifications with the references and we should get some news in the next days.

Re: Latest Position Bid
Don't worry too much guys....the company is a little overwhelmed right now planning for all this.
Re: Latest Position Bid
yes I wouldn't worry. It could take up to 2 weeks between some steps so just relax and wait for the offer to come! good luck

After all the moving around this recent equipment bid, YHZ base was about the only place where there were not any openings. There are also a few guys around the country that would like to go back when they have a few guys below them on the totem pole. Meaning the guy at the bottom may stay at the bottom even as positions open.
Not to discourage you, because anything is possible. And it may take you a year or 2, but it's the hardest base to get to.
Also, unless you're all starry-eyed over some New Waterford beauty, YHZ-YQY is going to get pretty old...
Good luck
Re: Latest Position Bid

Hey Everyone:
I got hired for the March 28 GS and was wondering what the chances of getting a spot in YYC would be? I am sure this has already been answered but just wanted to confirm.

Haha I did look at them, I guess I sounded a little bit stupid
I just thought they might have been joking, the whole class is going to be YYC... Well that is good news then!

Re: Latest Position Bid
I think since there are over 25 spots in YYC at the moment, even if every single person on the next two GS classes wanted to stay in YYC you'll get a spot.
Congrats
