Looking for Short Skyvan data/specs/drawings

Greetings,

I'm attempting to find a detailed set of specs for a Short Skyvan. There seem to be a good few sites around that have the basic speed/weight/dimension stuff, but I'm interested in something a bit more detailed. What I'm aiming at is getting something as close to the actual design drawings and specs as can be acquired(ie Detailed dimensions of the inner wall structures, cross sectional drawings, varying kinds of materials used, detailed-ish aerodynamic data, etc etc).

Anyone know of any good source/s? You can either reply here or PM me.

Yep, I guess they'll likely charge you a few $$$ to license the designs or whatever. My father worked there for his entire working life, but he's retired now so I can't help you. I'm amazed that they're still around - they were always on the verge of bankruptcy every few years until they got yet another injection of peace money. The Bombardier takeover was probably the best thing that ever happened to them.

How about we start off with the following and carry on if this what you are looking for.

The wings are high braced.
The wing section is NACA 63A series (modified).
Aspect ratio 11
Constant chord of 5 feet/10 inches
Thickness/chord ratio 14%
Dihedral 2 degrees / 2 feet
Incidence 2 degrees / 30 feet

Light alloy structure consisting of two-cell box with wing skins made up of uniform outer sheet bonded to corrugatged inner sheet . All-metal single-slotted ailerons with provisions for droop to approxiamately half the flap movement. Geared tabs on port and starboard ailerons, with manual trim on starboard aileron. All-metal single slotted falps . Provision for a rubber booted de-icing system.

Internal Dimensions -
Cabin excluding flight deck - 16 feet / 0 inches
Length - 6 feet / 6 inches
Maximum Width - 6 feet / 6 inches
Maximum Height - 6 feet / 6 inches
Floor Area - 103 square feet
Volume - 670 cubic feet

Unfortunately I do not have those stats. I had a Skyvan manual many years ago and gave it to someone at the Edmonton Flying Club.

External Dimensions
Wing Span - 64 feet / 1 inch
Length Overall - 40 feet / 1 inch
Height over Tail - 14 feet / 10 inches
Tailplane Span - 17 feet / 4 inches
Wheel Track - 13 feet / 10 inches
Wheel base - 14 feet / 10 inches

Crew and Passenger Doors - (forward, port and starboard)
Height - 5 feet / 0 inches
Width - 1 foot / 8 inches
Height to Sill - 3 feet / 9 inches

Rear Loading Door
Height - 6 feet / 6 inches
Width - 6 feet / 6 inches
Height to Sill - 2 feet / 6 inches

Well, she is not a looker, but she will easily outfly the Twin Otter we are all so proud off. It's been 16 years since I’ve flown one, but if memory serves me right, she will cruse at close to 180kts with 4500lbs of payload (or more if you have the military manual...). You can carry an air portable land rover, or a small 4x4 truck in it . If it only hadn’t had the horrible TKS de-icing and the non proportional tiller steering. I think there are only two companies operating them in Canada now - Summit Air and some other outfit in BC (they had contract for Sky Hawks last Summer - Google it). You can probably get more info from them.
