What's wrong with their old blue scheme? Are they trying to celebrate by using the old 747-100 original roll out colour?

It was displaying a new custom red-orange "sunrise" livery designed exclusively for the type, and represents a major departure from the company's blue livery.

Boeing says the "new color palette honors many key Boeing customers whose cultures recognize these colors as symbols of prosperity and good luck," a reference to carriers in Asia, projected to be the largest market for the 747-8 and the rival Airbus A380.

I remember working on Boeing's 'Connexion' 737-400 a few years ago. We called it the Orange Creamsicle...



Of course, the new colour scheme we wound up painting on it wasn't much better...

you didn't know about the SP. A few years ago Thunder Bay had a 47 parked there. It was a SP model as well, quite the little bird. The one in yqt with a quick search here or on google will revile quite the history. It was the one that china airlines spun from 37000 over the pacific only to recover at around 9000, tore the tail apart, lost panels, etc. They made a mayday episode on it. Parked in dessert for awhile, bought for humanitarian to be gnd'd by FAA so they brought it to yqt.

Registration is n4522v of it for anyone interested. Not to sure why I went on like that, carry on.
