REGINA – Three men are lucky to be alive after their plane crashed Wednesday morning near Assiniboia.
Assiniboia RCMP said the Cessna 172 was on a power line inspection run when it clipped one of the lines and crashed.
At around 10:30 a.m., the plane went down three kilometres northwest of Congress.
The male pilot and two male passengers, all from Regina, escaped the accident with minor injuries. They were examined at Assiniboia Union Hospital and released.

In my experience, Sask Power always sent two observers along. They want you to get right beside the power line, and go as slow as possible. When I was starting out in southern Sask, I was allowed to fly the spray plane before I was allowed to do power line patrol.
