Toronto Island Airport
I want to know what people think about it's situation
Toronto Island
First I have to explain that the Island has had the same rumors running since 1967. Will it cose, will they build a gridge, will they build an under pass or will they fill in the western Gap. The problem now is the conrol of the Island before the feds just ignored the complainers now its different. The new mayor has no respect for signed contracts. This means the pro Island forces are going to have to become as loud as the few who want to buikd condos on it.
The Island is need for general aviation to flurish in the GTA.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

I believe that Island Airport will still operate, but its potential will never now be realised. The death of the bridge will definately affect the amount and quality of users. It would have been really nice to have a reasonably sized airline flying in and out of the Island instead of having to go through the agony of using Pearson.
Island airport will remain a small GA field,............unfortunately.

The crane is still there, doesn't look like the construction company is packing up. When David Miller wasted everyones time trying to kill the bridge, the PA still did not have all the permits anyway. Now they do, and i wouldn't be suprised to see construction starting, oh lets say, the day after the election. as long as the feds are on board, the city is powerless to stop them, and the feds have told the PA to wait till after the election.
