R.C.M.P. Investigation of A.C.P.A.
Received from a A.C.P.A. Member
We have now received confirmation from the RCMP that the investigation of ACPA in reference to the Human Rights Act, has concluded in our favour. There will be no charges laid against either myself, ACPA or its committee members. This is further vindication of our conduct throughout the Age 60 issue.
On a related note, you may recall that ACPA filed a complaint with a provincial law society over the conduct of a lawyer representing the interests of a number of retired pilots. The result of their investigation was to issue a "reminder letter" to this lawyer reminding him of the terms of their Code of Conduct. It is unfortunate that this was necessary but we are pleased with the decision of the law society and consider the matter closed.

I would hardly call the fact that they ultimately decided not to lay criminal charges against the Association as a "vindication" of its conduct. There is undoubtedly much more to the story than that. The RCMP doesn't just show up at someone's door with a search warrant because someone asks them to. Even on Law & Order they require "reasonable and probable cause" to suspect that an offence has taken place.
And a "reminder" letter to review the terms of the code of conduct? I bet that really scares those lawyers into shaping up when they come into contact with the ACPA execs from now on. Isn't that a bit like an SB after a ride? Big deal.
Good work, ACPA. That'll show them.
Now about those damages. What's your take on that?

Hey Vic, it's probably one of your NWO pals hiding out in the mountains west of Christchurch NZ waiting for the apocalypse while trying to figure out how to turn 60 into 40. Darn, I knew I hid that pesky fountain of youth somewhere!vic777 wrote:Was this posted by an ACPA lover or an ACPA hater? Kinda hard to tell.
