Don't worry about that happening. Some more literate types would stand to loose A LOT of added value.>>>
It's 'lose' not loose!

What the f__k?! The USA is being criticized for it's lack of action on Lybia. And somehow you conclude that the USA is using it's lack of participation to play a greater role?!(the US) are vying to play an even greater role in the region
Are you drunk, or stoned?
This is as dumb as the crap in Misc about Stephen Harper killing kittens.

LOL
Thanks Moose,
I have offended the ivory tower of linguistic sensibilities.
and not the first time you've caught me!
Dear teacher, double LOL
What can I say? "it did had concrete action' 'without polical games'!!! And there's no decency in 'save havens' for spelling, or 'atleast deminished sunstantially'. Anyways I also 'don't respond to childish adults with a lack of decency.' too 'Oops, I guess I just did."
thanks for the quotes
Please don't let this upset your confederate sensibilities.

@hedley
"lack of action on Lybia. And somehow you conclude that the USA is using it's lack of participation to play a greater role?!"
I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion, from what I wrote.
Do you think that military aggression, is the only U.S. foreign policy?
And are you drunk or stoned?
I'm not going to pontificate a whole essay, on how you misinterpreted what I wrote.
I don't know what you're arguing/debating here.

Wild guess based on other European fighters - it could be where they store the R.A.T. - the Hawk stores theirs up there.burhead1 wrote:anyone know what that is??

Is that better? Is that all you have to say? Punk someone's spelling and grammar and over use the thesaurus function in MS word? You're welcome to stay and continue sharing your opinions on grammar and spelling while we discuss world eventsThe war would have ended years before it did, had concrete action been taken earlier without political games.

You realize this is a simple internet web board discussion and not a Master's Thesis?
Regardless, I blame the 7" screen on my net book.

@ old fella
"history is written by those who conquer"
I thought what you added to the discussion was useful. Being somewhat older I'm assuming, It helps to have a longer view in situations like Libya or Vietnam.
dash-ate added some good points too. sharp points. Although I don't agree with all of dash-ate's politics nor yours.
As you probably don't or wouldn't with mine.
I 'punked" what teacher wrote not because of spelling or grammar, but the content of what was said.
It's the bigoted character of what was written, that I took issue with.
We can discuss world events. sure.
However, I'm not convinced teacher understands much about what is happening in Libya (or the world), nor the ability to articulate whatever limited understanding he/she has. But some are quick to slander those, whom they don't agree with.
LOL
thesaurus. nope
spell check, always.
ha.
you loose, i mean lose

Re: Canada to send six CF-18s for Libya 'no-fly' mission
This war is taking a new twist, as the Arab League, and the Russians say that bombarding was not part of the No Fly Zone plan...

Re: Canada to send six CF-18s for Libya 'no-fly' mission
Bigoted!!!!!!!!!! Wow, continue to insult those that don't agree with you. Real mature, if you only knew. I know a lot more about the politics than you think but I have neither the drive nor the time to explain it all. If you think you can judge a person buy a couple posts on a web board you're an even bigger internet nerd than I though.Romantic Lung wrote: 'punked" what teacher wrote not because of spelling or grammar, but the content of what was said.

Either way I'm done. No sense debating against a brick wall

Once again, to those heading overseas good luck and return home safe.

@teacher, agreed
and good luck the people of libya,
I hope this civil war ends soon, and is not drawn out by gun-ship/boat/plane diplomacy.

Gaddy opened the armories, and distributed weapons to the supportes. Civil war is coming there, no doubt.
BTW, I saw F-18s on Al-Jazeera. Must be ours...

Re: Canada to send six CF-18s for Libya 'no-fly' mission
no, it is all good. We will bomb them into submission, kill a few thousands civilians along the way, and install a more "convenient" for the time being government. Will have much easier access to oil this way, lets face it - our economy requires it. Besides we will also be able to dissipate the rest of the more educated folks there into exile etc, and Libya will finally become more like the rest of Africa. This makes things even easier for us subsequently. And I hope we will also go to Bahrain and Yemen right away.
Re: Canada to send six CF-18s for Libya 'no-fly' mission
If this was a test, the Arab league will not support any more No Fly Zones that are enforced that way. And in any case, the Bahrain Shia will not be supported, because the are very close to Iran...

Re: Canada to send six CF-18s for Libya 'no-fly' mission
You cannot protect civilians on the ground with a No-fly zone.
It is all bullshit and arrogance. This will end the same as every other stupid UN mission the people will be machetted and suffer while the "professional soldiers" keep themselves safe in barracks waiting for faxes.
With any luck the UN sanctioned murder of Ghadaffi will be all over before Canada can get its old antique airplanes in the air over the no fly zone.
There will be plenty of flies flying underneath them in the no fly zone. A single dead body in the desert can produce over ten thousands flies. The body of Ghadaffi will spread more flies ,death, disease and destruction after his murder than he ever did when he was alive.
Disease and lack of clean water is usually what determines the outcome of most desert wars.

Re: Canada to send six CF-18s for Libya 'no-fly' mission
Final thought.
On the other side of the word a country has been hit quite hard unprecedented in the annals of natural destruction, nuke meltdowns possible. This country has a stable democracy and believes in the rule of law. It has been an economic powerhouse and quietly goes about its business and interferes with very few, if any. The might of the western world including its vast military resources (and it is awesome) should be put at the disposable of Japan – it needs it. Yet NATO and the UN to a lesser degree has a brain fart on dealing with that aging dysfunctional camel-driver a kinda of target practice for the top guns and their fast movers chasing tents/camels in the Sahara desert. Libya is but a pimple on the arse of worldly good and if said pimple has to be plucked, then may I recommend the Israeli air force.
Let us go with our knowledge/resources/logistics and undisputable ability of supply – yes, the military to where it is needed. No doubt Japan is watching and wondering and will remember in the decades ahead.
Over and out.

Old Fella
As of last Wed, the following USN vessels were assisting Japan.
1. Carrier strike group, largest in the world right now thanks to N. Korea:
USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76)
USS Chancellorsville (CG 62)
USS Cowpens (CG 63)
USS Preble (DDG 88)
USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62)
USS John S. McCain (DDG 56)
USS McCampbell (DDG 85)
USS Mustin (DDG 89)
USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54)
USNS Bridge (T-AOE 10)
2.Amphibious Ready Group, as well suited to Disaster Relief as warships get:
USS Essex (LHD 2)
USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49)
USS Germantown (LSD 42)
3.Another amphib:
USS Tortuga (LSD 46)
4. Pac Fleet command ship:
USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19)
5. Just brought new pumps to Yokosuka:
USNS Safeguard (T-ARS 50)
6.
MV Westpac Express (HSV 4676)
A brief search of the internet doesn't name any other nations naval vessels, but I think its worth pointing out that the list includes every suitable vessel the US has in the Western Pacific.
