J.Crew Ad Showing Boy With Pink Nail Polish
I don't know... the Scots wear skirts (kilts) and we don't question their gender identity. Maybe we should have a poll to see how many male pilots wear nail polish on their toes.

I ask this question more and more lately...The caption below the picture reads, “Lucky for me I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink. Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.”
where is dad?

Re: J.Crew Ad Showing Boy With Pink Nail Polish
I'm neither here nor there on the issue. But how come girls can have a "boy" haircut, wear "boy" clothes, play sports, get dirty, etc etc, but people lose their mind when they see a boy with pink nail polish or wearing a skirt?

Probably taking the picture, why does it matter? If a child wants to try on pink nail polish why does it matter? If a kid likes Barbie dolls why does it matter? He's just a kid and not doing anything permanent like getting a "tramp stamp" or self mutilating. Let the children play!!!!!!!!

That's because there's nothing gay about a kilt.Dex wrote:I don't know... the Scots wear skirts (kilts) and we don't question their gender identity. Maybe we should have a poll to see how many male pilots wear nail polish on their toes.

You're born gay, not made that way because of something you wear. And is being gay bad or something to be afraid of?? Shouldn't be.flyinggreasemonkey wrote:

Re: J.Crew Ad Showing Boy With Pink Nail Polish
i must be out of touch with the times, but when did installing napkin rings in your earlobes become popular?
Re: J.Crew Ad Showing Boy With Pink Nail Polish
I dunno - but the one on the right appears to be buying his (earrings?) in the plumbing aisle of home depot. Why pay for gold jewelery when a length of abs drain pipe will do? I bet that brings his anniversary budget way, way down.

Re: J.Crew Ad Showing Boy With Pink Nail Polish
kids do need their fathers.
In my situation/family, there is a severe problem with disappearing dads/deadbeat dads but I will never put nailpolish on the little boys. I wish the fathers would come back to their kids, maybe i wouldn't be worried about the kids and I could be free. I don't think I am but I would ask you guys to encourage other guys to step up ; that they should not be scared to be a stepdad either. It should be easy if they love their spouses.

Keep beating that politically correct drum there. Everything's Okay, as long as it's warm and fuzzy.

Do you think it is better for the child if the father stays and is abusive and/or mutilates the child?Sheila wrote:kids do need their fathers.

Re: J.Crew Ad Showing Boy With Pink Nail Polish
Although wearing nail polish is definitely a "girly" thing to do in our society, the colour pink and its association with femininity is a pretty recent development. Prior to the 1940's the generally accepted rule was pink for boys and blue for girls, the opposite of what it is today. Prior to that, in the 1800's for example, infants were dressed in white, and toddlers all wore "dresses" until they were a few years old. Gender distinctions were not considered that important at a young age. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that anyone who thinks that wearing something pink at a young age will somehow turn a person gay is really stretching the influence that they think their social norms have on people.
But, just to avoid these issues, I think everyone should dress in black, grey, and tan.

How many of us grew up in the 1970s and 80s listening to glam rock and metal and thinking those 'guys' were cool?
