Re: 100LL Prices
About $5ish per gal if you pump it yourself.
As someone who has a mogas STC, its not worth it, unless your in a pinch and thats all you can find, even then try to find it without ethanol.

Re: 100LL Prices
$1.65/l here in Invermere. With the rate the prices at the pumps are going up, I might start filling the beast with 100LL.
Get it while you can, it's only going to go up...

Re: 100LL Prices
Would the moderators consider making a couple Sticky Threads where aviators can post the latest fuel prices? (O for 100LL and one for JET A)?
The rules might require that posters place the airport identifier, date, and price in the subject field in a standardized way like:
Subject: CXYZ - $1.23 - May 19, 2011
The message body can be left empty or optionally contain comments, gripes, tips, etc.

Re: 100LL Prices
Or perhaps a forum could be devoted to each of 100LL and Jet A with one airport per topic? The latest subject heading will reflect the most recent price. Meanwhile airport-specific banter can go on in the message bodies...
Re: 100LL Prices
As much as I am not a huge Carson Air fan the above is incorrect. We only have one fuel dealer in Kelowna and that is Shell which is run by Carson Air. There was at least one mistake I know of where someone was over charged and it actually worked out to $2.62 per liter (I could be off by a penny or two). Basically what has happened is that Shell has chosen to break their fuel down into two parts, both a fuel cost and an ITP fee (Into Plane Fee). The Aeroshell here has over charged the ITP fee to at least one pilot, I am confident this will be resolved as I spoke to them myself.Old Dog Flying wrote:One fuel dealer in Kelowna: $2.53/litre...OUCH!
The actual fuel cost as of yesterday in Kelowna was $2.16 including all fee's.
Vernon & Oliver both have AvGas at $1.56 per liter.

This seems like a good 'ne I'll put it in suggestions if I remember when I'm on a real computer later.RVgrin wrote:Or perhaps a forum could be devoted to each of 100LL and Jet A with one airport per topic? cgartly: Thanks for the update on YLW...but even that is rediculous...and this ITP charge is BS
Re: 100LL Prices
Just a suggestion, but why not use the COPA Places to Fly (http://archive.copanational.org/PlacesToFly/index.php)? Seems kind of counter-productive to reinvent the wheel.

Re: 100LL Prices
Yeah, I know some of the info is outdated. But my point is if people want to create a separate forum here to do what has already been built by COPA, why not just focus the effort on updating the fuel prices on COPA's web site? Maybe provide a link to the COPA site from a sticky post on avcanada or something? I think if the Places to Fly site had more exposure it could evolve into a more useful resource.

Re: 100LL Prices
I think Avcanada would be a better choice between the two because it is a more "sticky" site; most people come back here frequently, often daily, but only visit COPA's site occasionally.wowo wrote: why not just focus the effort on updating the fuel prices on COPA's web site?
Of course, the sites are not mutually exclusive; pilots are free to post to both...

Re: 100LL Prices
ODF, The ITP fee break out is so the Gov can charge you 12% on the nonfuel portion on your bill. The fuel portion is and was 5% prior to the HST. At the end of the day the pump price is the same. Just more taxes.
Re: 100LL Prices
Foreflight on the Ipad as fuel prices and works good but not very popular.
I dont know why Airnav does not include Canada.
Copa website is not current on fuel price and not user friendly.

I don't know about retail prices, but I do know that the wholesale price out of YXE dropped ten cents a litre last week.

Re: 100LL Prices
You haven't even been able to buy 100LL in CYXL for the past 4 days.
Re: 100LL Prices
I'm guessing there's no website out there that will say the price of avgas at specific airports? It would be nice to have one, even if it was user-updated.
