Hockey violence, on and off the ice.
On the ice, career-ending concussions and permanent injury, in the name of corporate profits, with that idiot in the clown suits cheering on the blood and the goons.
Off the ice, rioting, burning and looting, which I'm sure will be blamed on some huge conspiracy involving the police and secret agents.
You really want to be associated with that?

You must be very happy, then, with the problems that NHL hockey players are developing with repeated concussions and long-term brain trauma, not unlike NFL players.
All part of the game, huh? Have another TimmiesNHL refuses to ban hits to the head over fear that it will strip the physicality from the game. Two headshots, no suspensions, and Sidney Crosby gets headaches for two months.
Instead of giving them sticks, how about NHL players are simply armed with machetes and pistols? Why bother with a puck? Wouldn't that drive the crowd wild? Fantastic ratings, too, certainly.

Geko, that's hilarious (the nut shot - not the riotting)

As I was watching the riot I was just thinking.."release the dogs...." Watching a German Sheppard chew the shit out of these pukes would have made for great TV!
And my last thought was.." rubber bullets, get the rubber bullets" . If 50 percent of these low lifes ended up with a 6 inch rubber bullet welt to their face, that would make it very easy to ID them the next day!

At least someone in Vancouver can score on the road!
Some days I'm ashamed to be from Vancouver. This is one of those days. A thoroughly uninspiring (no?)show from the team, and then a riot. It's a game, it doesn't mean that Boston is a better city than Vancouver, or that the USA is better than Canada, just that one team of well-paid man-boys beat another team...

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

"Why Don't We Do It in the Road?" is a song by The Beatles released on their 1968 album The Beatles, commonly referred to as The White Album. It was written[1][2] and sung by Paul McCartney,[3][4] but credited to Lennon/McCartney. "Why Don't We Do It in the Road?" is short and simple; 1:42 of twelve-bar blues that begins with three different percussion elements (a hand banging on the back of an acoustic guitar, handclaps, and drums) and features McCartney's increasingly raucous vocal[5] repeating a simple lyric with only two different lines.[6]
McCartney wrote the song after seeing two monkeys copulating in the street while on retreat in Rishikesh, India, with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He marvelled in the simplicity of this natural scenario when compared to the emotional turmoil of human relationships. He later said:

I wonder if those rioting are examples of the self-esteem being taught in the schools. Can't discipline the kids, (parents or teachers) can't have track meets as someone will win and the losers will feel bad. Can't keep score at a ball game, someone will feel bad. The kids know but aren't supposed to brag.
Kids are passed from grade to grade, can't fail.
Then they get out in the real world and complain that their boss wants them to turn up for work, everyday, at the same time.
Mommy and daddy will pay their fines, hire lawyers, can't let the poor kid be punished. This is the generation that they have formed in their mold. Politically correct kids of high schools and public schools, Canadian system educated. How many of the high schools in Vancouver were represented by a showboat arsonist? Round up the vice principals of Vancouver and they could do the job of identification. This is the youth that surround you, and it is the activists who have raised them up. Wednesday night, the ability challenged looked into the snapping jaws of reality and believes it’s not their fault.

Apparently, this photo was taken a bit out of context. After this photo went 'viral', the media has tracked down who the couple were. The Old Fogducker wrote:This variation on "Make Love, Not War" may be the precursor of the conception of another hooligan idiot.

She had just been knocked to the ground by a police officer (with his riot shield); and the boyfriend was comforting her. They weren't laying around in the street having at it. They were both up and on their feet moments later. .... at least that's what the current story is.
Now back to the original programming - these rioters should all be strung up by their balls and publicly flogged. Seriously, WTF is wrong with these people?
Cheers,

I hope:
-That all those who started this riot are caught, convicted and sent to prison for as long as possible; no parole.
-Their names are published and they maintain a criminal record for life prohibiting them from getting decent jobs and facing a life of financial hardship.
-That all those who continued the riot by causing damage, looting, violence, etc receive the same treatment.
-That the young people who didn't let their brains do their thinking, rather their stupidity, that they receive a criminal record as well barring them from any government job, position of trust, or any institution of higher learning. Let them be reminded of their stupidity for life.
-That they have their Canadian citizenship revoked and be sent on the next ship out. Where will they go? That's their problem!!!!!!!!!!
Why do I say these things? Because they acted as social, domestic terrorists. They sought to hurt, injure, destroy, and spread terror. For this they deserve none of our mercy. I call this crimes against humanity. It was not targeting one but all.
To those who risked everything to stop this I say give them the order of Canada and tell the country and the world that these are the true Canadians. Reward them with our praise, honour them with our respect and laud them our resources. They are heroes.
NO-ONE has the right to attack our society like this.

What we're the rioters saying anyway?Get lost cops?
It's all the Bruins fault, they should have just let the Canucks win.

Thats because someone has to question the story since I wasn't there. I would like to look alittle further since I am now serving my community and government in a significant way! It's just also that I like current events unlike some posters here. Also I prefer Canadian news.

Re: For you Canuck Fans
It is definitely because kids were not disciplined properly , at least that is big part of the reason. Also maybe they were drunk? If I had kids who acted like that I would tell them straight and that they should quit the drinking or whatever. If it's my teenager I guess I would pay the damage.JakeYYZ wrote:I wonder if those rioting are examples of the self-esteem being taught in the schools.
