Federal Elections

Post by Panama Jack »

Just finished reading in a (foreign) newspaper that federal elections in Canada will take place in two months. Has anybody heard a date yet?

With the current scandle underway, Martin will probably delay the election for a couple of months, although the fall has even been suggested. They want time to get the results of an inquiry made public. Should know in the next few weeks - but hey, they'll probably sweep it under the carpet...

I see a lot of pressure on Martin from the public not to hold an election until this thing is sorted out. People want to be able to vote liberal with a clear conscience.

We may see Martin backpedal furiously from his current "open inquiry" and/or resign to save the party, but it will not be swept under the table. Way too late for that.

Well this latest scandal has been better than a gift from heaven for two Transport Canada employees and me who are fighting three seperate corruption charges against certain TC Civil Aviation officials.

We are seperately and through our MP's going to see if we can force our new Transport Minister to clean house in TC Civil Aviation while the heat is on Paul and the boys to hold on to power.

Me, I am just delighted and would like to buy Shelia Frazer a new BMW or what ever she likes.

Hell, I'll even drive her around for free.

Lets hang the lot of them.

It might not solve all the problems in this country but it certainly would not do any harm.

And would be loads of fun.

(Plagiarized, i know)

Seems odd that we might vote before we know which of the crooked bastards are responsible for this crap. It would be a shame to give them another 4 or 5 years to do it.

What scares me is how when this story broke the Liberal Party's popularity dropped 13% and most of that went to the Conservative party. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against the Conservative party, nor am I a staunch Liberal. But when we all flock like sheep to a party with no leader, platform or constitution, in fact nothing more than a name, just because the press tells us to, that's scary.
