New fuel tank installed at Lindsay airport
By LISA GERVAIS, LINDSAY POST REPORTER
Updated 4 hours ago
LINDSAY -Lindsay Airport's new fuel system was put in place Thursday in a process that saw a crane remove the 13,200-pound tank from a tractor trailer that had driven it all the way from Saskatchewan.

It was quite a sight on July 7 as the Envirotank was lifted off of the truck and placed in its new home at the airfield.

It was also a big day for new Lindsay Airport manager Derrick Nauss.

The tank began its journey east last Saturday (July 2) and arrived in Lindsay on July 6. They then had to await the arrival of the crane on July 7.

It was lifted and the transport truck pulled out so workers could put it in place.

Nauss is excited that it will not only dispense regular aviation fuel but jet fuel as well.

It will also operate via 24-hour cardlock access so pilots can fuel up even when Nauss is not in the office.

Nauss hoped to have the tank up and running for this past weekend with the cardlock access operational some time this week.

He said the airport will also soon be getting a new hangar and now has a new website
