Conair is one for sure. I think they require 2500 PIC with at least 500 MPIC. Look on http://www.pilotcareercenter.com under carrier listings in BC. Their site is http://www.conair.ca I know a couple pilots there (both on the Convair 580) and they really like their job.

Just so we're straight, forest supression is the guys that start the fires and fire supression are the ones that put them out

Not sure about fire suppression minimums but for fire patrol, we require a minimum of 1500 TT and 500 MPIC. Pretty standard time for most places (due to insurance). If you need more information, PM me.

Good luck.

I think I like "forest suppression" better!

lots of forest suppression goin on last summer

Otherwise they got it right above, Conair is 2500 TTL.
Any fire patrolling would be a separate company. There has to be very harsh conditions before they would send out a birddog and/or bomber out on a loaded patrol. Better to have the group standing by at the base ready to go in any direction.

For forest surpression, you need to talk to companies like Volker Stevin, they're the ones that turn em into parking lots.

When I flew for a logging company some years ago we had T shirts that said.

Earth First.

We'll log another planet later.

Another company that workes in B.C. is Airspray that is based in Edmonton. I am not sure of what the min hours need are but I would imagine that they are the same as Conair. North Cariboo Airlines flies the smoke jumpers in Ft St John and there are a number of othere companies that fire patrols. you could contact the forrest service in Victoria for who they are
