Old war birds formation over YVR
Went in for a haircut today in Richmond and saw a formation of 6 war birds or (war bird like) over #3 road. Is there an airshow in town that I didn't know about?

Do you remember if they were single or a twin?.....Or what colour? Harvards always come to mind in numbers like that.
I also seem to remember a Nanchang group/club from somewhere in BC in the 90's....

All of them are single radial engine aircraft. If I recall correctly, at least 1 or 2 of them have a blue & yellow colour scheme. The path looked as if they were departing out of YVR.
Edit: time was around 2:00pm PST.

I saw someone do a low pass over Gibsons with smoke today, looked like a formation, are we talking about the same planes?
Flying airplanes is easy, you just need to PAY ATTENTION. Finding a good job on the other hand takes experience, practice, and some serious talent.

Yesterday was an anniversary celebration at YVR. I think 80 years perhaps. There were some aviation historians with displays set up at the South Terminal all day. They also built an observation deck just north of the South Terminal with a great view of 26R.
The formation group of aircraft were the "Fraser Blues". They're a flight of 6 Ryan Navions based in Langley. They do the formation flybys on remembrance day in the valley as well.
