Now we know why NASA was mothballed

Post by System Message »

NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth's atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.

It went from global cooling in the eighties, to global warming in the nineties, to man-made climate change because they just did not know what was wrong but had to do something, now we have man-made coal burning galactic weather shift because this has to be somebodies fault.

Well then, lets fire those coal power plants back up and get back in our SUVs immediately. What's the use of social responsibility to our planet. Releasing mass amounts of CO2 couldn't possibly affect our atmosphere.

Not yet. I'm going to wait until I see how this new information is incorporated into NASA's results here:

"What this might (or might not) imply regarding the ultimate causes of the El Niño and La Niña
phenomena is not relevant to our central point, though: that the presence of time varying radiative
forcing in satellite radiative flux measurements corrupts the diagnosis of radiative feedback."

So, from this unambiguous crystal clear statement we are to conclude polar ice is not really melting after all and global warming is not occurring?

Hmmm.

Rockie, the lesson today is not to make a conclusion from a single statement. What was the source of that anyway?

Lots of sources here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_shrinkage

I don't have time to look through them, but I think it's getting warmer. I'm not sayin' man is doing it, but stuff IS melting around the world.

Feel free to debunk wikipedia and change it to be more accurate. That's what it's there for.

I meant the statement Rockie quoted, it was made to look as though from the linked article.

No, it wasn't from the linked article. It is the last paragraph in the conclusion section of the actual study referenced in the article. I tried to read it but it is unintelligible for a dummy like me. Still, glaciers are receding, polar ice is melting and sea levels are rising. I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but in my experience stuff melts because of heat.

Yep, but, what that statement you quoted says, (if one takes the time to parse it out), is that no one is quite sure where that heat is coming from. Might be greenhouse gasses, but it might not. Glad to clear that up for you.

Ah, are you referring to the C02 that the billions upon billions of humans exhale every minute. Or the C)2 caused by the billions and billions of people doing things to enjoy their lifestyle.....take making a computer for example. Or the coal fired emissions necessary to generate the power to run it.

so, how about doing your share. Turn off you computer to save on all those coal fired emissions responsable for the power and hold your breath.

I will do my part too. completely ignore the experts who trot our little bits of regurgitated , politically correct wisdom, and enjoy life

while it pains me to have to agree with Rockie, there are just to many people willing to state assumptions as fact
