According to the last standing bid that was published earlier this week...
main high light... none unexpected:
- reduction on RJ flying due to Q400 fleet taking those routes.
- overall reduced flying expected till next summer

it shows that there wouldn't be any new hires scheduled untill early 2012 to get ready for the summer as long as there is no futher reduction in flying..

Semi good news guys, just got off the phone with Samantha from HR. Wanted to know if i'm still interested, seems there might be 2 potential additional GS in October and November. We'll know more next week.

I heard there will be a groundschool or 2 this year as well. Maybe the company doesn't want to repeat the major crew shortage of last winter after all.

So for those of you getting calls recently, are they groundschool offers, or are they just testing the waters and making sure there are still people out there that are interested.

I'm at the Sim stage. Is there anyone out there in the middle of the process that are getting calls for sims, references, etc or is it just the people who made it through all the stages?

The phone call went something like this: hi, are you still interested in working for us? Ok, good, there might be two gs coming up, well know more next week, we wanted to know who was still interested. Well keep in touch. Bye

And one of my friend who had only completed the sim, received the same call and then received all the papaerwork for the rest i.e. Security check etc.

Thanks for the info, superlapin. I was scheduled for a sim when they paused the hiring, so they must be working from the top of the list of who has completed the most steps and then work it backwards.

Sounds like a step in the right direction though!

Further update: The standing bid should be completed by Sept. 13. Jazz would then know how many new pilots they would need to hire. Good Luck to everyone.

I did the interview and sim a few months ago, but received a call recently from the HR to know if I was still interested by the job. I then received the paperwork for the criminal background and did the medical. What are the chances of being called for a ground school when someone finishes the whole process? Can I still be in the hiring pool and not get hired now?

As Mentioned before,

37 New- hires total

Next classes are Oct 03, and Oct 24. Not sure how many will be on each.

As per the latest bid, Spots available are all on the Dash( Both Q400, and Classic) for all bases except YHZ.

Even split (more of less) Between YYC DH8, YUL DH8, YYZ DH8, and YYZ Q400

and 1 YVR DH8.
