who got there start in CYFS over the years
So I was just reading another post and it made me think. Just how many fellow Avcanadians got their start in CYFS? Does not matter what outfit you were with -let's just see.
I started with the WFBP in May of 2000 right in to the mighty 206. Met a lot of good people, learned a lot about flying, learned even more about drinking (winter) and even met my wife there. I only stayed a year before finding new adventure in survey (thats another story) I would like to give a big thanks to Ted Grant for talking a chance on a young guy and showing me the ropes. 11 years later (4 of witch we moved back to the north) I'm a captain on a CL65 and CE750. Now when we are level at 470 I find we end up talking about the time that we spent up north and what a blast it was. To everyone up north enjoy the time, the bigger better deal will come soon enough and you to will miss your time up north.
Cheers PT6

Can you get a CE750 that high? Sure can't get a Ski-Doo up that high. By the way, are you talking about Fort Simpson? I spent some summer-time up there, Bulldog capital of Canada, not to mention 6 rooms and only 4 window screens in the FS Hotel... You might fall asleep with a screen and lose it mid-night to a rampaging AME.
"What's it doing now?"
"Fly low and slow and throttle back in the turns."

I worked for both.
The only three things a wingman should ever say: 1. "Two's up" 2. "You're on fire" 3. "I'll take the fat one"

We should start a 'George Betsaka Fan Club'...

I wasn't based in FS, but I used to operate the DC3 sked over there three times a week from ZF in the late 90's. I knew a few of the guys with Wolverine and Simpson Air. Good times.

By CYFS I'm sure you mean CET4 since there aren't any companies based at the MOT. Been there many times though I have never been based there. I fly the red and white 172 flying in from the south with a tool box for a quick 50 hour and no snags

I was born there if by got there start there is what you mean
Re: who got there start in CYFS over the years
I work there now but on a temporary leave for the winter. Wow I was "betsaka'd" last weekend.
I'll most likely work there for ever. As long as the crew trailer stays standing, I'm coming back.
Drinks on Ted.

Didn't start there but spent nearly 4 great years there flying just about everything for both companies. In my opinion it is one of the best kept secrets in Canadian aviation and probably the best possible place for a 200 hr wonder to get a start.

Oh Fort Simpson! The friends the memories the liquor. Miss it sometimes but definitely easier on my liver no longer being there. Good to see all the alumni progressing in their careers. For those of you who I had the privilege of working with over the years, miss you all and hope to see you all again sometime in passing.
