Re: "The Aviators" Returns to Canadian TV in Prime Time
Well Dr, I care.
Its great to see this production get air time in a decent viewing slot and promote aviation.
But then, I'm a public relations, ex radio & TV broadcasting guy, so I care how the business appears, and whether somebody with an interest in aviation can make a living temporarily out of producing a nice, HD program on aircraft and the people who support a pilot being in the front end.
Evidently, you fail to think the same way by your contemptuous reply to Anthony's attempt to inform other aviation people of his work.

That's the spirit! What on earth was Anthony thinking by communicating information about a CANADIAN AVIATION show on a site called "AVCANADA"Dr. Mcillicuddy wrote:who cares

Slowstream,
Doing a clean pass followed by a "dirty" pass in a clapped out metro does not mean you worked two airshows!!!! If standing under the wing of the old bird, wearing raybans, hair slicked back, and trying to talk the panties off of a 4/10 cougar...then yes, i guess you did work two airshows

If I have one complaint about The Aviators it's that each episode is too short!

Actually I've never flown a Metro (thankfully), I volunteered and did a number of very non-glamourous duties but none the less it was interesting and for the most part I enjoyed it.
Better luck next time

We get that a lot! It's a great complaint to get, really. Well, you know what they say... always leave them wanting more!If I have one complaint about The Aviators it's that each episode is too short!
Seriously, thanks for the encouragement. We're getting started on season 3 which will continue out season-over-season evolution. You'll find that season 2 has a number of improvements over season 1.
For those who have been phoning and emailing Travel + Escape (Glassbox Television)... THANK YOU! We're very happy to be on T+E and they're happy to have us. And they just get happier when they get feedback from viewers even before the show has aired. And we really appreciate it!
The Aviators will air at 4:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and the following 1:00 am ET Thursdays and Sunday mornings at 9:30 am ET. Set your PVRs (each recording counts in the ratings <wink>).
Enjoy the show!

Re: "The Aviators" Returns to Canadian TV in Prime Time
Been away for many months, so this is the first chance I've had to view the show. Very nice job, Anthony. I enjoyed the piece on Julie Clark; I met her recently and she is really cool, and I think your segment brought out her coolness nicely. What a fantastic lady! She can park her gold plated engine in my hangar whenever she wants. The piece on the homebuilt helicopters was also very interesting. Hell, the whole damn show is interesting!
We have some manufactured drama from Yellowknife and Alaska each week, and then we have your show. I know which one I like best.

Great show and really like the fact that you combine a casual yet professional aire with your hosts.
Your content is not dumbed down so far as to lose the aviation professional but general enough to lure a casual interest viewer.
That is no small task I'm sure.
Some great footage, and I have to admit to cranking up the amplifier from some of the audio. Love that airplane noise.
Wish you much success.

Re: "The Aviators" Returns to Canadian TV in Prime Time
Thanks for the kind comments. We think that ANY show on TV that attracts positive attention to aviation is good. Of course the style of our show versus theirs is completely different. Our new project "Air Boss" might be a little closer to the reality genre though. Being aviators ourselves we're going to be careful about the "manufactured drama" you mention in an effort to remain true to aviation. There's plenty of NATURAL drama that occurs when these talented individuals take to the skies for our entertainment!albertdesalvo wrote:We have some manufactured drama from Yellowknife and Alaska each week, and then we have your show. There's also Hulu (which is only available in the US) and of course DVD if your prefer. Thanks for asking though, I hope my answer was helpful.
