Helicopter Incident at CYKF

Post by jacek_flying »

Does anyone have any info on the helicopter accident at CYKF on 28 November 2011? Hope everyone walked away from it and was not hurt.

More details on the crash. Apparently wx was clear and winds under 5 kts.

I think "clear" would be a fairly good exageration. Ceilings were reported at YKF between 1200-1500feet all morning. Although, by the time I arrived from at CPE4 (6nm East of YKF) from Parry Sound at 1400 the ceilings had increased significantly. Before theories and rumours run rampant, does anyone have the metar history at YKF? My sincere condolences to all those affected.

Edit to say visibility however, was good all morning and winds were indeed very light all morning
