Is it just me, or is AvCanada completely bogged down?

I've noticed a few times over the past couple of days that the forum (and not other websites) are hopelessly slow. Tonight is particularly bad. I've tried three different internet connections (cell, LAN and wireless) with two different providers, and two different browsers - all results the same. About 2-5 minutes to load a page!!! No other websites are this bad - anyone else having this problem?

It's not just you. It's really slow.....same the last two or so days....really bad tonight.

Ok thanks! Seems to be picking up now... I wonder if any moderators know the reason? Last I checked was 500+ users online, but the max online was over 1000 so that can't be it.

Ok... just signing on after the disappearance of the board for the past hour or so, and it still seems very slow to load a page. Granted I'm not on the best service here, but pages on other sites are loading comparatively faster.... if anyone is conducting troubleshooting...

Agreed Snoop...mine is slow too. The site was down for around an hour. Its taking 60 secs to load a page? Every other site is fast, so its something local.

Same here - intermittently 20-30 seconds; but on average 5-10 seconds .

While we're on the topic, does anyone else here think AvCanada is long overdue for a facelift? I've been a faithful follower of avcanada for over eight years and for better or worse it has not changed at all since the day I joined. I know this site is run more or less by volunteers but I think it's time this forum got a new look. Replace those early 90's graphics and pixelated logo with some nice headers created with one or more of the many fantastic photos users have generated on here. I'm not a programmer by any means but if anyone needs help with a redesign I'd be more then willing to do a little photoshop magic.

It's running better today. There was a big difference this morning between 500 online and 900. It's over 1000 now and slow but not bad. I don't know if changing the headers would speed things up. Once the speed issue is resolved maybe think about redecorating.

I've noticed the site is consistently slower than it was in the past. I thought it was just me. -Took me about 15 seconds to load this thread alone.
