Friend of mine is looking at Helijet, do there hire pilots externally for the charter jobs? He has just over 900 hours and almost finished his group 4. He's hoping to bypass ground but I'm unfamiliar with the IFR side of the industry and can't confirm they won't put him on the ramp.

He'll be on the ramp. Unless you're showing up as a turnkey captain, there's little chance of getting away without loading a few bags.
