What's that I smell?
And exactly why opinions on AC like Boomers are completely irrelevant, the truth doesn't even set them free. I can't wait to hear the rebuttal in this saga.
go to the top of this page, on the top RH Corner you will see, "Search"
select "Search"
then go down a few inches, and on the left you will see, "Search for Author"
type in Boomers, and or anyone else's name, and you will get a very good condensed layout, of all the postings from the author you entered. Have a look at Boomer. It is a good indication of who he/she is. It will save you wasting your time with that type(s) of posting(s).
777longhaul, I read most of his posts the other day. I was completely underwhelmed with his knowledge and insight into the real world and the reason I cut the losses (my time) and didn't bother arguing with him anymore as you just can't find brains in a stone.
Not the pilots fault customs closed down.
The lesson learned here (and this has happened to every airline) is to just keep the PAX in the loop and don't assume the CSA is doing their job. it's the flight crew that would have to have delt with the pissed off pax if they had have boarded up 2.5 hours late. A little info (and coutesy) goes a long way.
[quote][/As for the problems/money that this caused you company, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Any airline that does not respect a flight crews rest period and duty day is not much of an outfit to work for. Sounds to me like you should be
worrying about the safety of that airline you work for.quote]
Bottom line is US customs closes at 21:00 and they don't care one iota about who is going to miss their flight and what are your reasons behind it...they just don't care! It's that simple.

Pretty soon the entire country will be on a W2R campaign if this government continues to interfere in private and public sector negotiations.
I find this thread quite entertaining. Perhaps a word of caution for those who wish to spew vitriol on a public forum such as this.
Mr. atpl53.... you have both insulted and made spurious accusations through your own conclusions against this particular aircrew. You have wipped up a frenzy of response.
Surprisingly enough, the specific crew that worked the flight have the courtesy to respond here to your comments in an attempt to elighten you on the particulars of the situation you experienced.
Unfortunately, you included in your rant having admitted to abusing the duty regulations we as professionals are compelled to follow. This in itself could be a reportable offence possibly having some consequences.
Now, you should be aware, that pilots have access to Air Canada's reservation computer and with it, the files of the passengers of any given flight. It does not take a Sherlock Holmes to determine the name of one of our passengers, or the name of a company a passenger represents. The vitriolic comments you have made could easily come back to bite you in retribution. No one is totally anonymous in the internet blog world.
Perhaps an apology to the crew that had no control of U.S. customs is in order? No? Than perhaps the suggestion that you investigate the truth of a situation before blatantly jumping to conclusions.
I was reading this while waiting to board an AC flt and nothing had happened, been announced, etc 10 mins after departure time and had to laugh.
Some of the responses in this thread reminded me of nigysob and are imo quite fitting and typical of this forum.
Keep m coming!
(So far about 4 times the posts here than posts on the 747 crash in riyad or the lufthansa cargo md11. I thought that was interesting)

I, as well, find this thread quite interesting. Here we have one pilot cautioning another pilot about disclosing information about his alleged breach of duty regulations, at the same time that he is suggesting others could engage in authorized access to their employer's computer system to gain confidential information about the first pilot's customer record, in breach of privacy laws and the employer's code of conduct!
I love irony, but does anyone here have a clue about the implications of what they are saying?

Who said "Stupid is as Stupid does"..................... no more needs to be said on this thread!
