Every medical.. and it's a pretty lame 'check' at that..deaf guy wrote:How aften does your doctor check your hearing?? every medical or less often??
My doctor used to, while putting on a latex glove, stretch it and let it snap! I would incidentally turn and look at him, fearing the tactical operation he was about to undertake... he would reply: " Don't worry, I was just checking your hearing!!"
In the business world, the rearview mirror is always clearer than the windshield...W. BuffettThe doctor did the quick test of a whisper accross the room and asked you to repeat. I assume he does it every time.
You have to take an audiogram the first time you take your medical (took mine today!) and then not again until you are 55. Also note that it is only for class 1.

hearing
Not every doc does it! I have had some that do, and some that don't. I too was worried about my first medical, cause i was tone deaf in the high frequencies, in one ear. However, I can tell u this. I know someone who is completly deaf in one ear. He can't hear nada out of it. still flying. So, now, anybody know how that will affect a guy trying to get onto air canada, with not so great hearing/
