Peter Shewring CAHOF

Post by Airtids »

Hard to believe, but today marks two years since Peter's flight to a far better place. As expected, he is still missed.

I have decided to undertake his nomination to the Canadaian Aviation Hall of Fame. The process is quite involved, so I am soliciting the help of anyone who feels they can add to the application. The outline can be found here:
http://www.cahf.ca/how_to_nominate.php

I knew Peter and his family fairly well, but never worked for him, or acted as a crewmwmber with him. There are obviously some gaps in my experience. If you feel you can help fill in some of those gaps, please get in touch with me, initially via pm.

I think "Pecos" Pete deserves it, and while he would certainly downplay it, I'm sure he would also appreciate it...

I cant think of a much better nominee. Peter helped so many of us through our INRAT exams and ATPL exams with his very successful courses. I will certainly will add my vote for his nomination and add anything I can to assist. He was truly one of the good guys in our industry!
Fly safe all.

Great idea Robin!! Please call me and I will help in any way. I can't believe that it has been two years. Peter was a true friend and we go back to 1965 when he was the bookkeeper for VFS. He put on a lot of INRAT and ATPL courses at Juan Air and definitely deserves this nomination for all the help he gave to this industry.

Did an ATPL Course with him. Had lunch with him a few times. Always gracious, humble and made time for you. Very honoured to have met him..... He sure has done alot to improve the quality and knowledge of the people who fly our sky's and the sky's of the world.

Very deserving of the honour.

Peter was a fantastic guy and totally deserves this honour. I have him to thank for my INRAT score and for helping me to the job I have now.
