Q400 replacing a lot of CRJ positions in YYC

Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
You are correct it is 29
Read it too fast. Might be some YYC CRJ pilots that aren't too happy.

Does that mean that some of the CRJ Capts and FO's with the lowest seniority will be downgraded to the Q400? And with that comes a pay cut aswell?
Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
29 plus attrition. Should be closer to 80-100 new hires at Jazz over the next 12 months. And as for the CRJ, there will be more reductions in that fleet type coming as well. Some replaced by Q400, some replaced by CRJ705/900, and some not replaced at all.

Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
The Q400 holds 74 passengers, more than the 100 or 200 so some could see it as an upgrade imho. Also pay at Jazz is not based on a/c type so whether on the RJ/Q/traditional its all the same pay.cj555 wrote:47north wrote: Q400 replacing a lot of CRJ positions in YYC

Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
Is that statement entirely true? I mean, I understand it's the same pay scale at Chorus regardless of the type flown but, doesn't your status pay end up being averaged over all types flown by the group? By that I mean, when Chorus flew the 757, the pay rate for those crews was higher, but it was given to entire pilot group, so everyone saw a small raise. Now, is the pay rate for the Q400s the same as the pay rate for the CRJs they're replacing? Because if it's not, the entire pilot group will see a pay change. Also pay at Jazz is not based on a/c type so whether on the RJ/Q/traditional its all the same pay.
Regardless, hiring is always good news. Good luck to those applying.

Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
The '57 raised the rates a small amount but now that we're back to normal, it doesn't matter what one flies here, the pay rate is the same between types.

Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
I am pretty sure that anything 90 seats and under is paid the same group rate, the number used to do the pay scale. So answer should be no change in the pay scale.Go Guns wrote:Now, is the pay rate for the Q400s the same as the pay rate for the CRJs they're replacing? 1 dollar per hour pay uplift across the board with the 757`s. SOOO that eqautes to an extra 80 bucks to all Jazz pilots every 2 weeks? every month?. would the depth of expertise on this webboard like to give an actual number..
Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
It was approximately $1.5 - 2M in incremental annual payroll expense shared amongst the entire pilot group.AutoPilot Off wrote:1 dollar per hour pay uplift across the board with the 757`s. Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
how do they figure the pay rates, rasm casm.
D8-100 37*250=9250
D8-300 50*270=13500
CRJ200 50*430=21500
CRJ705 75*440=33000
D8-400 72*350=25200
considering that the Q400's are replacing the CRJ's you obviously need a pay raise

Has any information with respect to further CRJ705/900 orders been made available?rudder wrote:29 plus attrition. Should be closer to 80-100 new hires at Jazz over the next 12 months. Re: Jazz Pilot Bid Out
Yah, 42 deliveries of 705/900 replacing remaining 100/200 aswell as some Dash8100/300s. First deliveries to take place with pluna 900s once import in place, then from factory, one a month starting Jan 2013. Also placed an order for 58 Cseries, starting feb 2014.
