I was told that it was 40G to start in the Right seat. I was impressed and considered sending in a CV

Re: Air Partners
$35,000, I find that hard to believe anyone would fly for that.
As a company I would not want a pilot who thinks he is only worth $35,000. Air partners clients are high end, I would not be putting my high end passengers with a green captain (this is all you will get for 35G).
I can see a company flying riggers pay there pilots 35G. I call BS unless they are wanting an accident.

The guy that washes my car has to fly an airplane occasionally, what a coincidence.

I would be willing to bet that the first cars to be washed would be those of managements.....

Re: Air Partners
A pilot from AP was saying that they have been on a wage freeze for over two years plus all the rest of the "new and improved" bond requirements, on-call 24/7, they decide your days off-not you, etc etc... No wonder they cant get their own pilots to apply to fly the XL or the KA.
To top it off, the boss/owner showed up at the hangar driving a brand new Nissan GTR.
Way to lead by example.... leave the 120,000.00 toy at home General....you may get more loyalty from the Troops. In AP's case, I doubt it.

Does anyone know if they hire from the ramp? I'm trying to find a first rung position while I do my training

When hell freezes over. They have a flight school. I assume their instructors want to get on too I don't think any of them have moved up in the past 3 - 4 years.simmer wrote:Does anyone know if they hire from the ramp? I'm trying to find a first rung position while I do my training

Re: Air Partners
15 years ago I considered becoming a pilot, decided to turn wrenches instead, have recently thought about moving to the pointy end, this post made me realize I am not nearly bitter enough for that. $40k for the right seat to start with next to no experience is a place to start, I am guessing that is more than TM got for his first flying gig, everyone has to start somewhere and not everyone has to start at AP/MA. Show up, do a good job, work hard, show initiative and I am sure you won't be a $40k F/O for every. In the 2 years of flying in the King Air you will gain experience that will help you move on once the bond is up. Every where I have been the pilot lounge has had a revolving door on it and even the pilots that were making $90k a year were looking for greener pastures and blew off their bond to move on Can't imagine why companies have bonds?
I take it that 14 and 4 is 14 days on call and 4 off? The pilots I know fly less than 3 to 4 days a week, not all those days could be full duty days. As an engineer I often have worked 20 days straight and 14 hours 7 days in a row have been a fairly regular occurrence, I chose this career knowing this is what to expect and have accepted it as how things work. I do find it funny though that the pilots that whine about how little they get paid usually are the ones that work the least. I love the work and the career I make enough to pay my mortgage and feed my kids, if I wanted to make big coin and work bankers hours I would have chosen another career. Bottom line if you hate where you work and how they treat you maybe it is to move on to a new employer and a new career. Maybe you can convince the "those two" as you call them to give you a pink slip.

Re: Air Partners
Interesting comment. I've run into a couple pilots like this as well that have huge entitlement issues and are so bent on 'greener pastures' that they were down right miserable people. If this career is not what you were mystified into believing it would be, no one is holding a gun to your head to stay.If it's got wings wrote:I love the work and the career I make enough to pay my mortgage and feed my kids, if I wanted to make big coin and work bankers hours I would have chosen another career. I chose this job, I make less than a teacher, and I enjoy it. Also, I don't whine and fuss as if someone tricked me about what it would be like.
Re: Air Partners
they are offering 40-45K for Captain NOT F/O. this is well below industry standard.... you get what you pay for.

Re: Air Partners
So if they are offering 40K to 45K what did you counter with? As in any business you never start with the number you are willing to settle at, if someone is willing to take the job for 40K why would you offer 50K to start? Pretty basic negotiating I would think.
Re: Air Partners
Yep, I've accepted the offered wage less than half the time in my career. Convince them that you are the person they want, then convince them that they aren't going to get you unless they up the ante. Then once you get in and they are sure they want you, raise. If it's got wings wrote:So if they are offering 40K to 45K what did you counter with? Re: Air Partners
So whats the scoop on the Challenger pilot they are advertising for? Do they have it yet and what are they going to pay?
I wasn't always scared of heights

"What's it doing now?"
"Fly low and slow and throttle back in the turns."

Re: Air Partners
I see they want a 560 Captain - seems to be some turnover. Wonder why?

Re: Air Partners
I'm not sure the ads are a result of turnover.
If you check the aircraft registry they added 4 aircraft in the 4th quarter last year and they just added a Challenger 604 a few weeks ago. Looks like business is good.
They are probably just trying to put butts in seats.

Re: Air Partners
It should be obvious to anyone that when it comes to pilots it doesn't matter how little you are paying (or how much you are charging in some cases), you will always have plenty of applicants.
When you want experience, you have to pay a little more. It's not until you really want quality that you have to start paying good wages.

Re: Air Partners
This what I hear from a source on the inside. The are trying to put butts in seats for the lowest possible cost. Low wages, guys with PPC's, and have to be willing to wash cars. No PPC? Sign a 2 year bond which includes hotel, food and travel expenses for sim. You'll owe everything for the first year. A sign your life away contract.Guy Incognito wrote:I'm not sure the ads are a result of turnover.

I also wonder what their clients will think when they find out their jet is never in the hangar because they dont have any hangar space.

Says they were looking for an Ops Manager. Who is the new ops manager and who is their CP?

Re: Air Partners
So apparently they no longer want pilots washing cars, they have advertised a new job for that under "aviation jobs"
