Scenario:
A U.S. company has a Parts Manufacturing Authority to design and produce a replacement part, and they have an eligibility chart (with a list of eligible certified aircraft) showing that said part is an FAA approved replacement for an old, out of production part from a different manufacturer.
Question:
To install this PMA part on a Canadian registered certified aircraft, is some sort of installation authority from the aircraft manufacturer required to legally install this part?
Thanks,
LC

Re: FAA PMA parts in Canadian Registered Certified Aircraft
CAR 571.13 would be your friend:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/r ... tm#571s_13
If the part numbers and aircraft models line up as required, I believe that yes, the installation should be legal ... so long as its not a major modification (Saying that just in case a Canadian major modification is defferent than an American one, in which case it's possible a simple PMA replacement in the US may not be so simple here, if the definitions differ).
Your AME, and/or TC, would be the best source to confirm this with greater certitude, as I certainly am not an authority. I seem to recall seeing an interpretation from TC on this ... a circular of some kind ... can't find it now though ....

Re: FAA PMA parts in Canadian Registered Certified Aircraft
From CAR571.07:
