United Airlines also announced that United Express (Skywest Airlines) would begin Denver- YMM on June 6, 2013.

Yes, that is exactly what the YMM Airport Manager mentioned when Sunwing was operating a flight out of YMM to PVR. Great to see!

Re: Inaugural International Flight from YMM
Was talking to some of the ops side folks up at YMM. They are doing weird and wonderful things to make these International flights happen in that small cramped antiquated terminal.
When Sunwing pulls in from PVR, the area with the one and only luggage carosel goes into lock down to conduct customs and immigration. Meanwhile, an A320 pulls in from YYZ. A shed outdoors acts as the 2nd luggage carosel from the next 15 months.
The new terminal building is well underway and all the airside ramps and taxiways are ready. It will have 8 gates with 4 bridges, a huge increase over the existing 2 or 3 gates with 1 bridge.

I heard the new terminal won't be ready til sometime in 2014?
Re: Inaugural International Flight from YMM
I believe you are correct. It's a bit of a mess right now in the terminal....but it's only temporary... Good to see growth!
The direct non-stop service to Denver by United should be a success I would think. Someone was telling me that the connection times don't work very well in YYC. I don't know if that is true or not, but certainly will be more convenient going direct.
